The Dollar Holler Rap

In math we are learning to count money.  Each day we review coins and their values.  This week Mrs. Ringler taught the class a “catchy” rap that we hope gets stuck in our students’ heads to help them easily recall the value of each coin.  Whenever we sing this rap we invite some “Coin Helpers” up front who get to proudly display the coins that we are singing about. Here are the words to our rap and some pictures from today:

My class knows a song.

It’s really kind of funny.

It’s all about coins,

and learning to count money.

Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters

Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters

Now a penny means one.

A nickel means five.

A dime is worth ten,

and a quarter’s twenty-five.
