Today we had a slime party to celebrate good behavior for the month.  The kids had tons of fun making the slime and playing with it.  All STAR students were able to make slime.  Rock STARS were able to add fluorescent paint to their slime. Here’s the recipe in case you’d like to have some more slime fun at home!

Cup A = ¼ cup + 2 Tbs. cold water, 1 bottle of glue or ½ cup,  add paint if desired, Stir well.

Cup B = ¼ cup hot water, ½ tsp. borax, Stir until dissolved.

Pour Cup B into Cup A and stir until it becomes slime.  If there is extra water pour it back into Cup B.

Kaeden and Aidan helped us care for our eggs on day 16. They were excited to do their part in turning the eggs so the chicks don’t stick to the shell on the inside.

Vince and Evan took care of our eggs on Day 15.  They carefully turned them 3 times.  The eggs are getting heavier which means our chicks are growing!

Time is flying with our egg incubation!  Our eggs spent day 9 through day 13 in Mrs. Swavely and Mrs. Henn’s incubators so their egg turning machines could turn them for us over Easter break.  Today Maddison and Sebastien cared for our eggs.  They did a great job!

This Friday Brecknock students will participate in our annual Day of Service in memory of former teacher Mrs. Lisa Horning.  A few students have started bringing in donations for Cross Connections.  Here is a copy of the letter sent home a few weeks ago. I hope you’ll consider making a donation.

Our classroom Talent Show is on Friday, April 1st at 2:30. Please help your second grader prepare for this show. EVERYONE is expected to participate. We hope you can join us to celebrate some of the ways that the students in our class are special.  If you haven’t RSVPed yet, please send me a quick note or email so I know to expect you.

On Wednesday Hailey and Omar were our Egg Helpers.  They turned the eggs twice during the day. At the end of the school day I put our eggs in Mrs. Henn and Mrs. Swavely’s incubators so their egg turning machines will turn the eggs for us over Easter break.

On Tuesday Malak and Gouger took care of our eggs.

Our eggs spent the weekend in Mrs. Henn and Mrs. Swavely’s incubators.  They have egg turning machines that turned the eggs for us.  Today we put our eggs back in our incubator.  Treth and Felicity turned the eggs at 11:40 and 3:15.
