Today was our last day working on Unit 2 in Math. This unit taught measurement and time. We finished the unit test yesterday so today we did a fun activity called “Measure Me.” The students had a chance to use measuring tapes to practice measuring parts of their bodies. We measured around our heads, necks, ankles, wrists, and hips. We measured leg length, arm length and arm span. The kids had lots of fun working together to gather the measurements.

On Friday afternoon one last chick hatched. This weak little chick hatched 4 days late. I took it home in a tank under the heat lamp to see if it would make it through the weekend up the little chick passed away Friday evening. That is the end of our fall hatch. We are sad that we didn’t have better results but as the saying goes, “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.” We plan to try again this spring.
