Kaylee Jester – Cosmetology Internship

Hello! My name is Kaylee Jester and I am a cosmetology intern at Serrano Serenity Spa located on Main St in New Holland. My duties consist of greeting clients as they walk in and out, as well as checking them out and scheduling future appointments. I also help to clean up around the salon by sweeping or cleaning products out of mixing bowls.

Since I do not have my cosmetology license I am not able to actually do anything hands-on, but I do a lot of observing of the different techniques that Shannon uses for different services. I see many clients come into the salon for root touch ups, balayages, highlights, lowlights, or even just haircuts. I love to see the clients leave satisfied and happy with their new hairstyles!

I hope to move to New York City to go to cosmetology school and work in a salon there. After working for a couple years, I eventually want to own my own salon. This internship is helping me to further my knowledge of not just cosmetology, but also the management side of it.

I am so excited to continue my internship at Serrano’s Serenity Spa and to see where it takes me in the future. I have already learned so many new things and am ready to learn so much more with the help of my mentor and salon owner Shannon Sarrano.
