Ryan Lantz – General Manager Co-Op

My name is Ryan Lantz, I am a senior at Garden Spot High School. For my senior year, I decided to enroll in co-op. Co-op has provided me with real-world experience and allowed me to get a headstart in life while still getting my education.

I am currently working at Niblock’s Fresh Meats, located in Quinton New Jersey. There I am the general manager and soon-to-be part owner. I get to learn how to manage a business and butcher all different types of meat. I take care of a wide variety of things, ranging from taking care of orders or trimming up meat for the case. A project that I am currently working on is getting building permits for a piece of land we just bought beside the store. On this land, we want to put up a bigger building with barbeque supplies, grills, and patio furniture. Another project that I am working on is getting permission to start making deli sandwiches in the store. I think this would be a great decision due to how many people come in daily and ask if we make fresh
sandwiches.

Being able to have a program like co-op has allowed me to grow so much as a person. Having real-world experience has allowed me to gain knowledge that I would never have been able to gain from being in class all day. It allowed me to feel more prepared for right after high school and allowed me to create a more specific plan for my career and where I wanna be in my future.
