Virtual Reality Job Site Tours

This past week co-op students took 12 field trips to see each students job site.  This allowed us to learn about the jobs and daily routines of each student at their job.  But instead of hopping in the vans, we hopped into virtual reality.  Prior to taking the tours, the students borrowed the 360-degree cameras which take photos similar to “Google street view.”  They took interior and exterior photos at their job sites.  Next, they used Google Poly to upload their photos, add some informational text, and publish their tours to the web.  After the tours were created, we were able to take 12 field trips in two days!  We emersed ourselves into the jobs of each student and we heard the pride that each student has for their work.  Below you can explore the tours that the students created and learn about their jobs.

A big shout out to the Spartan Foundation for purchasing the 360-degree cameras and the Google Goggles that allow us to see the tours in VR.  THANK YOU!
