MP #3 Update

Is spring finally here?  I am officially declaring it so.  I think that students, parents, and teachers alike are ready for the fresh beginning of spring after a long, cold winter.

Springtime, in gifted support, means that students are busy working on their independent investigations and multimedia presentations.  Once again, this year, we have a vast variety of topics that students have selected.  I am always amazed at their interest and passion areas.  Thank you, parents, for signing students’ learning contracts.  Please keep asking your children about their progress.  Remember:  although lots of time is given at school to work on their investigations, the end product to present at the Expo will be what each students chooses to put into it.  Each year, many students decide to enhance their presentations with physical additions such as props, posters, or handouts to share with the audience.

If you’ve not yet marked your calendar, please do so.  The Gifted Expo will be held on Monday, May 21st at Blue Ball Elementary from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.  Please be on the lookout in your email as the date approaches regarding more details.  In the meantime, if you are willing to help with set-up and serve refreshments that evening, I will welcome any volunteers.  Please shoot me an email if you know you will be available to help: cherie_lenahan@elanco.org.

As always, if you have any concerns about your child’s progress after receiving their Goal Achievement Update in the mail, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  I welcome your questions and conversation.

Happy Spring!
