Technology

Student learning at Brecknock is supported through the use of various educational technologies. Our district believes in the value of infusing 21st century competencies into the learning environment to support student collaboration, inspire creativity, promote problem solving and critical thinking, and to enhance communication skills. We offer this in a safe environment with teacher supervision and managed through our administrative and technology department personnel.

To read more about the various student competencies in this area, read the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Students, developed by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). We are working to infuse these competencies into our curricular frameworks in an effort to fully engage and support students in their learning.

In addition, this document outlines some specific tools students are currently using to enhance and support project work in our schools, as well as the rationale behind their use and integration into our district’s curricular and educational technology frameworks.
