I just finished a book called The Cellar by Natasha Preston. According to Liv The Book Nerd, “When sixteen-year-old Summer Robinson goes missing one night, her family, friends and boyfriend are devastated. Nothing ever happens in Long Thorpe, so the disappearance of a school girl shocks the whole community. The police waste no time in launching a search and investigation, but with nothing to go on and no trace of Summer, hopes of finding her quickly fade.” After reading this book, I thought that the beginning was really strong and the pace of it was perfect. The paragraph structure was written beautifully. Towards the middle of the book, things started to get really boring. The same thing was said over and over again and I started to get a little bored. The figurative language in the middle got really dry and it didn’t make much sense. The book would’ve only been 150 pages if what happened was only explained once. When I got to the end it began to be an exciting thriller again. The reunion that happened between the characters at the end was really beautiful to read.
