Kendell Moats – Marketing Internship

My name is Kendell Moats and I am a Marketing Intern at Engle Printing and Publishing Company. Engle is in Lancaster and has given me many experiences within the marketing field. I go to the office twice a week, and sometimes work from home, I love how flexible they are! My bosses, Michelle Emenheiser and Rachel Stebbins are amazing people to work with and have taught me so much about the marketing field. After High School, I plan on attending a four-year college to pursue a communications degree with a minor in marketing. Engle is preparing me for my future career better than any class, online training, or club could!

As previously stated, I go into the office twice a week. When I arrive, I walk to my desk and open my computer to see what tasks I have to do that day. We use a website called Trello, that organizes the marketing team’s to-do’s for the day, week, and even month. Somedays I make Instagram and Facebook posts, sort magazines and newspapers for upcoming events, and even make crafts. My favorite part so far has been designing different goodies for kids to take when we go to events. We have put together pinwheels, and jingle bells, and made our own coloring bookmarks.

Every Friday at Engle, the marketing team goes on a field trip. These field trips are designed to promote what our journalists are writing about and to give an honest review. So far, we have gone on trips to frisbee golf courses and to the Millersville Costume Shop. At each field trip, we meet amazing people who love to showcase their jobs and hobbies. These trips teach me public speaking skills, how to take quality videos and pictures, and how to ask good questions.

With the help of Michelle, Rachel, and the rest of the team at Engle, I have gained skills that will last me a lifetime. Over the last month, I have gotten to experience what it is like working in an office space and going to meetings. I have had to dress professionally and experience a commute to work. The internship program has allowed me to experience an adult job and has convinced me that I may have a future in marketing.
