Making A Difference

“It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.” – Tom Brokaw, NBC News

  1. What does the quote mean to you? – To me this quote means that it is easier to make money than to make a difference in the world. Making a difference in the world is much harder than just making a dollar. Making a dollar is easy and simple. You could do a lot of things to make a dollar, but making a difference… WAY harder.
  2. Do you think that it’s more important to make money or make a difference in the world? –  I think that it is good to make a difference in the world, but it is also important to make money. Because if you are making money than you are trying hard to do what you have to do to make money. But if you think it is more important to make a difference in the world then you are trying to do something that is more remembered and unique.
  3. Who cares more about money, rich people or poor people? – I think that poor people care more about money, because they don’t have NEARLY as much as rich people do. Rich people are making ten of thousands of dollars every day. Whereas poor people aren’t making anything, and might be living in a box on the streets, or is in a homeless shelter, or is trying to care for their children but can’t because they don’t have enough money. These homeless people are longing for money… just even a dollar could help their family extremely. If these people do get money they will think through all of the things they could buy that would help them. But rich people just spend their money on random stuff that doesn’t even matter like candy, toys, electronics, etc.
  4. What are some easy ways to make money?  What are some of the problems with easy ways to make money? – Some easy ways to make money is to start babysitting. But some problems that you could run into with babysitting is you will probably only have limited customers. You will probably have limited costumers because not many people will want to trust a stranger with their kids or pets. They don’t know you, or anything about you. I know I wouldn’t trust a starnger with my kids or pets.
