Washington D.C. – Week 3 Blog Challenge – Free Choice

I just went on a trip to Washington D.C. and I had the most fun ever! First thing first, I had the longest car ride ever! When I say long I am talking 3 to 3 1/2 hours for my car ride. When we arrived in Washington D.C. my family and I went to the Arlington National Cemetery. I just want to say it is a lot of walking. I walked a least a couple miles. When I went to the cemetery I went to go see the eternal flame. John F. Kennedy was buried at the eternal flame. If you don’t know what the eternal flame is, well it is your lucky day! The eternal flame is a flame that burns 24/7, even if it rains the eternal flame keeps burning. The eternal flame is the burial site of John F. Kennedy. We also went to the tomb of the unknown soldier. This tomb is where a soldier was buried, but it is guarded 24/7. No one knows who the soldier is. That is why they call it the tomb of the unknown soldier. They say it is very hard to be a guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. After we went to the cemetery we went to our hotel. We didn’t do much when we returned to to the hotel. The next day came and we went sight looking. First, we went to the Holocaust museum. Just a warning it has some graphic content. Next we went to the Washington Monument. We decided not to go into it to go to the top. After the Washington Monument we went to the Lincoln’s Reflecting Pool. Of course we went to the Lincoln Memorial. Next we went to the World War 2 Memorial. At the end of the day we visited more museums. I think it was the best trip ever!
