Global Goal #3 Good Health and Well Being!

What are the global goals? The global goals are made up of 17 global issues that are to be fixed by 2030. Last week my class focused on global goal #6 clean water and sanitation. This week we are focused on two global goals. In my last post I wrote about global goal #2 No Hunger and in this post i’m writing about global goal #3 Good Health and Well Being.

Good health and well being is the global goal #3. Over the past years the number of deaths from children has been cut in half. The Global Goals website says that we are “spending an astonishing amount of money and resources on treating illnesses that are easy to prevent. “  I think that its important that we look closely into what this sentence is saying. We could be preventing this from happening but we aren’t and now we have to spend a lot of money to cure that illness.

The Global Goals Website has eight targets for good health and well being! One of the targets is END ALL PREVENTABLE DEATHS UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE. This target is important to me because it would decrease the number of deaths a year. IF you want to help this global goal go to the global goals website and learn what you can do!

Global Goal #2 No Hunger

Global goals are world wide problems that are to be fixed by 2030. There are 17 global goals and each week my class focuses on a different goal. This week we are focused on two global goals. Global goal #2 No Hunger and global goal #3 Good Health and Well Being. In this post I will be working on goal #2 No Hunger.

Did you know that hunger is the world’s No. 1 leading cause of death and did you also know that 25000 people die from hunger each day!  The Global Goals Website  has eight targets for this goal. One of the most important to me is Universal Access to Safe and Nutritious Food. This is important to me because they could have food but it might not be healthy or safe to eat. Just imagine it’s only monday and you know your not gonna be able to until monday. 8 million people in the world don’t know where their next meal is going to come from. What if you were so poor that you couldn’t even buy your school lunch. In Memphis Tenn., 70% of students in the public school can’t pay for there school meal. The school is eligible for free school meals.

If you think that the global issue hunger is a big problem the Global Goals website has helped me think of ways to help!  First you can donate to a charity. The global goals website says that you can save your food instead of wasting it by freezing it or saving it for leftovers before they go bad. They also say to buy funny fruit. A lot of foods are thrown out because of the way they look. What if they are actually better you will never know unless you try it.

Go to the Global Goals Website and learn about the other global goals. Learn what you can do to help and learn a little bit more about no hunger.FOOD!

Global Goal #6 Ways YOU can Help!

The Global Goals are made up of 17 goals that are to be accomplished by 2030. This week we focused on global goal #6, Clean Water and Sanitation. Not everyone in the world get clean and fresh water like you might. If you have ever been to a pond of a lake, you wouldn’t even think about drinking it. Well kids and adults in other places get water just like that and sometimes worse. If you think this is a big problem and want to help here are some ways you could.  You can look for organizations that help support getting clean water and sanitation to everyone and donate to them or you could make your own foundation to help. You can tell other people about this and get them involved too! You can clean up a nearby river or stream, and don’t waste any of your water. Go and read my other post to learn about global goal number 6 clean water and sanitation and why it’s important and why it’s such a problem! Go to the Global Goals website and learn more about this goal and learn more about what you can do! You can also learn about the other goals and help support them.

Global Goal #6 Clean Water and Sanitation

The global goals are made up of 17 goals. They are each to be accomplished by 2030. This week we are focusing on global goal #6 Clean Water and Sanitation. Why is this important? Global goal #6 is important because 1 in 3 people live with no sanitation. This can lead to death and different diseases. Without clean and affordable water people die because they are drinking unsafe water.  The Global Goals website has eight targets. One of them is to have safe and affordable drinking water for everyone. I think that one of the targets should be that the safe and affordable drinking water should be nearby because in some places they have to walk a long way to get clean water. In some cases it’s not even clean. Picture yourself without the ability to get clean water. Right now you live where you can get up and walk 5 steps to get fresh and clean  water but now,  picture it if you had to walk 5 miles to get dirty water and that’s all you had. If that was me I would not even drink the water I would rather never drink water in the world.

In class we watched a video on TED Talk. A man had came up with a water bottle that turns contaminated unhealthy water into fresh drinkable water.  He gave an example and all he had to do was pump one end of the bottle and the water was fresh to drink. He was inspired by hurricanes and tsunamis that hit places. He saw how people reacted to get water, he said it made him feel angry and needed to do something.

Be a Responsible Consumer

What it means to be a responsible consumer is that you are only taking what you need and not what you want. It’s important to be a responsible consumer is because you could buy what you don’t need and never finish it. The world will get polluted and it’s not good for us to breathe in. Ways you can be a responsible consumer is by only taking what you need and finishing it. If you don’t finish it give it to someone else. Here is a saying my teacher told me take what you want eat what you take. I think that this saying is helpful because if you take more than what you need it’s a waste.  We are polluting the Earth if we don’t take care of our waste properly.

Making the World a Better Place

I think that the world needs no poverty. I think this because if we have no poverty that would also help having no hunger and good health and well being and many more.  Having no poverty would help a lot of things. I think that the world needs a special day where anyone can come to a place and interact with their family. Everybody is on their phones and need time to interact with people. I’m not saying that there bad I just think that people are on them to much. Those are two things that I think are important and will make the world a better place. Leave a comment saying what you think would make the world a better place.

Global Goals….

The global goals are seventeen goals. Each goals is to be accomplished by 2030. Some of them are no poverty, life below water, gender equality, Etc,.  There is so much we can do to help achieve these goals. The global goals are here to make the world a better place, and safer place.

Why we need the global goals?

The global goals are problems all around the world. We need to fix them because some of the goals are threatening to the planet. For example, goal number 14 life below water. Trash is building up into the ocean and fish eat the trash and die. Also, the ocean water gets gross. Being a responsible consumer also is important because if we don’t take care if the trash property it could lead into the ocean.

Peace

What peace means to me….. It means silence and no screaming and no fighting. Sometimes peace mean playing a game with my parents because it’s alway quiet or watching a movie. I like to help my family have peace. For example, My cousin and my sister are the same age and they fight a lot and sometimes they are best friends. When they fight they it’s always over something pointless so I try and help them work  it out. So what does peace mean to you. Leave a comment telling me what peace mean to you.

What I would do at a Trip to Disney! Part 1

If i’m already at Disney I would be there for 6 days so that I can go to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios twice. I would stay at the Grand Floridian Resort. First I would go to magic kingdom then animal kingdom then hollywood studios and finally epcot. I would go back to magic kingdom and hollywood studios after that.

The first day at the parks I would go to Magic kingdom. I eat my breakfast at the resort. I take the boat to the magic kingdom for the opening. I rush to the Peter Pan ride because the lines always take forever on that ride. After 15 minutes of waiting I finally got on the ride. Then I walked back to main street for one of the parades. I left before the parade finished because there is always a big crowd. I went to adventureland and went on aladdin’s flying carpets and then the jungle cruise.  ( I want to work on that ride). Right beside adventureland is frontier land. I had two fastpasses for splash mountain and big thunder mountain coming up so I decided to head over there right after pirates of the caribbean. My first fastpass was for splash mountain and I rode in the front with summer. We got so wet so to dry off we went for my next fastpass big thunder mountain. It was so much fun. It was almost lunch time and we had reservation at Cinderella’s table. I love it there because it’s actually inside the castle and you get to meet all of the princesses. It was delicious! We were super tired so we decided to head down main street for some shopping. It was almost 3:30 so we had to get to our next fastpass in fantasy land the seven dwarfs mine train. After that we went to dumbo the flying elephants. We decided it was time for something scary so we went through rapunzel’s village and to the haunted mansion. It’s not that scary but it’s scary if you get stopped at the clock spot when a person needed help is getting on the ride. We were kinda getting hungry so we decided to head up to belle’s castle for dinner. There was so much more to do that I would do but it’s really hard to remember where everything is. So I would ride more rides until it’s time to gather around for  the fireworks. The park closes after the fire works so we left early. We had to take the monorail back to the resort since the boat wasn’t running. We grabbed a quick snack then went to bed watching a disney movie.

The next day we went to animal kingdom. Animal kingdom is further out from the rest of the parks so we had to take a bus. The bus rides are the worst since they take forever. When we finally got there we headed to breakfast near the safari so we could easily get there. We got all you can eat pancakes and they were so good. Then when we finished we got on the safari. We went there first because in the mornings they are being given food and they are all out. The safari takes a while so when we were done there was a lot of people in the park. So we went to the dino place with all the dino rides. ( I forget what it’s called) We go on a ride that is like the mouse trap. We did that so that we could be ready for expedition everest and the river rapids. We headed over to expedition everest and waited not very long until we could go but I decided to wait longer to be in the very front. It was so scary and exciting. Then I went to river rapids and got soaked just like splash mountain. I didn’t want to go on any of the new rides because the lines were super long and I didn’t have any fast passes for animal kingdom rides because I knew I didn’t want to be there long. Animal kingdom isn’t my favorite. After we rode a few more rides we went to lunch. Then we took the bus back to the resort so that we could swim in the pool a little. We got dinner at the resort and just swam the rest of the day. Finally we went to bed.

The next day we went to epcot. We got breakfast at the resort then took the monorail to Epcot. I have 3 fastpasses for the day. Soaring, Test track, and mission space. I was there after the park had opened and me and Summer rushed to our first fastpass mission space. ( I’ve never been on it in real life) It felt so real. After that we decided to head to mexico. It’s so cool in there! ( Epcot is a park that has different places in it that have rides and places to eat.) Mexico ride has a very long wait so we decided to head to norway where we could meet Elsa and Anna and go on there ride. The Anna and Elsa ride is a water ride that has a drop. Me and summer didn’t know that about the ride. Then after the ride you meet anna and elsa. London is right beside Norway ( In Epcot) So for lunch we went over to london for fish and chips. Then we went to germany, Paris, and back to Mexico. Them we had to go to test track for our fastpass. Before the ride we got to design our own car. It went so fast for the outside part. We were racing another car. Then we had to hurry because we didn’t notice but it was almost time for our fastpass to soaring. We had to run since test track was kinda far from soaring. When we made it was so cool. You felt like you were actually soaring around the world. Soaring is inside the land pavilion so we also got to go on the land ride. I was almost time for dinner so we went back to germany for dinner. They had live music and good food. When we finished our food and stayed for epcot’s firework show illuminations. Finally when it ended we went back to the resort and right to bed because it was a long day of walking.
