CHAPTER 2: Creating Clues

A little while later, Michael pulled into Bill’s driveway. Bill was standing on his porch, waiting for him. As Michael got out of his car, he saw that Bill was right. The bucket was knocked into the bushes, and he didn’t see Bill’s dog. Michael walked up to Bill. Michael asked, “Ok, so who are your neighbors?” Bill replied, “The one who lives to the right of my house is Joseph Kidmi. Most likely didn’t steal it because he is my closest friend.” Michael wrote down in his list of suspects: Joseph Kidmi. Then Bill said, “The guy who lives behind me, his name is Matthew Khei. I suspect him the most because I heard his son really wants a dog, and their favorite food is fish.” Michael wrote below Joseph Kidmi: Matthew Khei. “And finally,” Bill said, “the guy who lives to the left of me is Jonathan Dekswik. I don’t know anything about him.” So, Michael wrote down beneath Joseph Kidmi and Matthew Khei: Jonathan Dekswik. “Well Bill,” Michael said, “I think it’s time to interview people, starting with you.”
