Talon Monderewicz – Landscaping Co-Op

My name is Talon Monderewicz, I am a senior at Garden Spot High School. I started my high school job this year at Tommy’s Express but then realized I wanted to get more of a career.    I have gotten the opportunity to work at Earth Turf & Wood. This has provided me with the chance to get real-world experience in the profession that I’m hoping to succeed in.

I am taking my work opportunities at Earth Turf & Wood Landscaping. I do all the ground maintenance. I get to learn a bunch of skills that include mowing, floor scrubbing, and communication. I get to use my creativity to mow lines and make the yard look nice and neat. I get to make sure all of the shop’s space is in the right labeled sections.

I get to learn about real-life experiences while still being in school. You get to see how working all day long feels like. I got to be creative and use my skills for my next jobs and the rest of my life choices. There were lots of hands-on experiences that you wouldn’t encounter if you were in school so it’s nice to be able to have the opportunity to leave.

My opportunity to be able to leave school and work is a great experience. You get to use all your life skills early. You get to always be one step ahead in life. You get to see and feel what it’s like to work hard and have fun. I get to be a part of a real company and I will always be thankful for this opportunity.
