Elizabeth Bowman – Physical Therapy Internship

The place that I am interning at is Pivot Physical Therapy. It is on W Main Street in New Holland. I am interning to be a Physical Therapist and watching and learning what it is like to be a Physical Therapist.

First are all the things and duties that I have and do. The job duties that I do there are helping with getting things ready for patients and cleaning everything up. I Make sure all of the equipment and everything is where it is supposed to be put back and is all sanitized. Another thing I do when patients are doing their exercises is have ice or heat on, another part of it is talking with them. Especially if they are older people too. I also have a daily routine every time that I am there. I usually start with making sure there is clean laundry that is used with pillowcases and towels. Then for the rest of the time I help with getting equipment for patients I also help with cleaning the tables and the equipment. And then also observing what exercises are given to what injuries. And getting a close learning of what it is like.

I have grown from this experience by learning and understanding more about Physical Therapy and what it is like to be a physical therapist. I have also learned about what it takes to do this job. I have grown from this experience because of learning about how much I enjoy this and have learned something that I haven’t known before. This experience has influenced my future career goals by teaching me that this is what I want to go to school for and for it to be my career. And how I think it would be a good fit for me.

I have learned a lot with this opportunity and it has been very beneficial for me. It has taught me a lot about this career and what it takes to do it.
