Nicole Zeiset – Retail Co-Op

Hello! My name is Nicole Zeiset. I work at the Fashion Cents Morgantown location as a key holder. Every day we get a truck so my job is to unload the truck and put it in the storage room. Once the trucks are unloaded and leave I put the clothing that came on the salesfloor and organize the processing in the back to put out on the floor throughout the day. As a key holder, I close the store. I have a key and handle the money directly, putting it away and getting change for the registers. I also make the call on pricing and deal with any questions customers might have. 

At Fashion Cents we get a truck every day, which means every day is different for me. My projects around the store usually include cleaning up the displays and making them look nice while being shoppable. I am also the person who put out the processing from the truck into the store to stock the shelves. I’m always running around the store doing something with displays and cleaning them up. As customers buy things from the displays, I go around the store and find things in the storage room to fill in the empty holes and replace them. 

My experience at Fashion Cents has helped me grow a lot. I found out that I enjoy working with clothing much more than I do working with food. Working at Fashion Cents has been a great experience, but I also learned that I don’t do well working inside doing the same thing every day. I enjoy variety in my day and traveling around.

My experience has helped me realize that for my future career, I want to be full-time at a place I enjoy that has variety. I do enjoy Fashion Cents for the most part but it’s not what I am looking for in a career.  Presently, I’m going on career coaching business tours to explore more careers and find my career passion. Overall, I am grateful for my coworkers and its location being so close to my house, but I would like something long-term and more suitable and supportive for my future endeavors.
