Should children still obey their parents?

I think that children should still obey their parents until they are able to move out and make decisions on their own. Even then, as an adult, I think that if your parents would tell you to do something, or ask for your help, you should try to complete that task. Whereas if they are giving you advice or guidance, you may not have to follow it but take it into consideration. I also believe that as a teenager, you are in an awkward phase where you are more mature and independent than a child, however you are not totally prepared for all of the responsibilities of adulthood. In this case, it requires lots of communication between parents and the teen so that the teenager can begin to make some of their own standards, but still listen to the parent as they still have knowledge to pass on.
