My soundtrack for the book Ready Player One

1.   Everybody Wants to Rule The World by Tears For Fears

This song was one of the most popular songs of the 80s something that the main character Wade Watts and the CEO of Gregarious Games, James Halliday both love and share an interest for. 80s pop culture. It also can relate to the book as the Oasis was so huge that whoever owned it basically ruled the world because everybody had it and used it.

2. We’re Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister

This song is a great representation of the end of the book when the IOI and Parzival (Wade Watts) and almost the entire Oasis get into a huge fight for the last key. The community isn’t taking IOIs crap and won’t let them secure the last key so that they can own the Oasis.

3. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!

This song is great for when Parzival and Art3mus go to the club or Distracted Globe and go to the zero gravity dance floor where the have a dance off originally trying to find a clue to the 2nd key. Instead they are tracked down by a bounty hunter I-R0k and their position is given to the IOI which they are later attacked.

4. Stayin’ Alive by Bee Gees

This song is also a great song for when Parzival and Art3mus go to the Distracted Globe and have a dance battle. They get a little caught up as there is something more between the two. Rather than searching for the clue that may be there.

5. It’s On Again by Alicia Keys (Feat. Kendrick Lamar)

The main character Wade Watts had found a box and it had flash drives of complete runs of The Amazing Spider-Man, The X-Men, and Green Lantern It’s On Again is a song from the movie The Amazing Spider-Man and plays in the closing scenes of it.

6. She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5

This is great song for the ending of the book where Wade and Samantha have a romantic end saying that they should date and that Wades in love with her and a lot of that stuff.

I read the book, Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. The book has been super interesting to read so far. A dystopian world that is now all involved in a place called the Oasis. This virtual world is basically a video game and is the wealthiest company in the world. The creator of the Oasis, James Halliday died and left the owner of the Oasis up to anyone. All you have to do is solve the “Easter Eggs” and find all three keys. The person who gains ownership basically controls the whole world as the company is huge and is a global phenomenon. Luckily the main character Wade Watts and his crew The High Five might just might find the easter eggs. I really like this book and it is one of the ones that I could actually read all the way through without getting bored.

I chose the book Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It has a movie and I really liked the movie so I hope it is a good book.

In the end, Friar John gets the news to Romeo causing him to not go and get poison and to not kill himself before Juliet awakes. Romeo and Juliet escape the catacombs and Verona as a whole and have a nice life and family in a different city. Potentially Rome.

After the Shot Drops By Randy Ribay

I started working in a graveyard with my mom, we clean graves and keep the place nice. However it gives me the creeps, I don’t know how my mom does this everyday, I would much rather just play basketball or really anything else for that matter than work in a graveyard. I would do chores around the house for all I care!

I wonder how Nasir’s doing I know he’s getting evicted and I feel so bad for him. I can’t do anything for him either. I wonder if he even likes me anymore, I mean I left him and the whole basketball team for another better one. I wonder if I made the right decision.

I left for a private school a couple weeks ago because of basketball. I have a lot of talent in the sport and the people at St. Sebastian High though that I would be a good fit on the team. They wanted me so that I could maybe bring a championship to the school. I have been having a tough time I don’t fit in and I feel like I’m a mascot and I’m just wondering around the school by myself. Although I have basketball by my side and that’s all I’m really here for, I wish things were different. I almost want to go back to my old school but I need to stay here for all the opportunities.

There’s better education, food, people, teachers, everything. The opportunity here is infinitely better than there was at my old school. But is it worth me not having friends or even my old friends? I don’t know. There’s only one thing that I can count on and thats Basketball

I can’t believe I performed like that in my last game! They couldn’t guard me. I just kept shooting and the ball went in. I was fully in the zone and I played almost perfect. My teammates realized this and they started feeding me the ball. What a game to end on, I will make sure to remember that for the rest of my life.

I read, “After the Shot Drops” by Randy Ribay, In the beginning I was happy, then I was confused, and then I was sad. Also the last game that the character plays feels a bit too perfect and most of the opportunities would not be there in real life.

The news article I picked was about Luka Doncic taking a step to being the best ever. This article talked about his accomplishments and listed what he had averaged for the season being, 27.7 points, 8 rebounds, 8.6 assists, and .5 blocks a game. These numbers are insane especially because he only entered the league 2 years ago. These numbers are MVP numbers and he still has a whole career left for him. The article also talked about Luka developing his jump shot, saying that since he now has a shot he is one of the greatest offensive weapons the league has seen. He even one-upped himself because in the playoffs he averaged, 35.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 10.3 assists a game. These numbers are even better because a lot of players crumble in the playoffs but Luka seemed to have gotten better.
