Mrs. Lapp’s unit 1 math class has finished their giant ants. What a great experience! The students enjoyed making their ants 100 times larger than a normal ant. We used our math skills to make metric conversions and then practice multiplying by powers of 10. Head over to Mrs. Lapp’s math page for great pictures. Great job fifth graders!

5th grade is using a grade wide behavior system. Students clip up for good behavior and clip down for inappropriate behavior. Students can move up and down throughout class. As the students move from reading to math their charts reset and they begin at green again. For every time they clip up they receive a Talon Ticket to be used in a weekly classroom drawing and then they are put in the large bin for the school wide drawing at the end of the month.
