The Air Force Association Grant: Garden Spot High School Science Department received the Air Force Association 2013 Educator Grant for the Meteorology and Astronomy Class to use to study aerospace travel. The grant was in the amount of $227.00 and was used to purchase model rockets and supplies so the students could learn more about aerospace technology. The students have been studying meteorology and the importance in our daily lives as well as for aerospace missions. They will be studying the physics and forces that act on a rocket launch as we as why design is important for the flight to succeed. The rocket launch allows the students to apply the physics, meteorology, and aerospace lessons they work through the entire semester.
The Donors Choose Grant: Garden Spot High School Science Department received the a grant from Donors Choose for 12 motorized cars to learn about velocity and acceleration. This grant provided a hands on opportunity for the physical science and physic first students to learn more about motion. The grant was in the amount of $395.18
