A Star A Wish And A Wonder

A star a wish and a wonder is one way you can comment I am going to be telling you how to use them!

star, A star is to give a complement or say something that you liked about the post. for example I love how you gave a lot of details!

wish, A wish is something you want to know more about or something you do not understand. for example I wish you told me more about why you love dogs so much.

wonder, A wonder is a question or something you do not understand. for example I wonder why if you like dogs so much why don’t you have one?

as you can see a star a wish and a wonder can help you comment and the reader understand what you are commenting about.

    Hi Abbie,
Your description of your family is wonderful! I wonder if it is challenging to take care of so many pets?

I enjoyed the way you described how to comment on posts. Your list of stars, wishes, and wonders make commenting sound magical.

I wish I knew how you came up with such an engaging way to explain commenting.

    Take care and happy writing!

    G’day Abby,
I had heard of the star, wish and wonder form of commenting. I think it began as a form of peer assessment with younger children with two stars and a wish. Maybe the older children changed it to a star, a wish and a wonder. Here is Mr McCray’s grade 5 class guidelines http://mrmccraysclass.edublogs.org/8-2/

You and your class members might like to visit his blog and leave a star, a wish and a wonder on one of his posts.

Hi there. I was a grade 2 teacher for a long time, and we always used the 3 stars and a wish format when kids were presenting their work in the author chair. I’m glad you recommended it here, and I love the wonder step.

    So, for your post:
Star – thanks for explaining this star-wish-wonder strategy so well.
Wish – maybe you could have given examples
Wonder – I’m wondering about your other posts. The commenters above have been very complimentary. I’m going to go read the rest now.

    Cheers!
