Iceman’s Death-MWilcox

Otzi was running up the Alp Mountains in Northern Italy, for he had just got into a fight where he had hurt his hand terribly. He sometimes stopped and looked around, listening carefully to hear if his attackers were still following him. Hearing nothing, he sat down and caught his breath, taking some grains out of his pouch and eating them. After a while, he got back up and started climbing up the mountain some more until he had reached the top. He had found a cave to stay in where he made a fire, it wasn’t as cold in the cave then outside, though Otzi still felt like he was freezing to death.

After a couple days, Otzi’s hand was getting better, he was sitting at the edge of the cave looking at the dark sky. Otzi froze as he heard what seemed to be a stick snapping in half. He looked up cautiously, seeing a mysterious black figure that looked to be holding a bow. He squinted, trying to get a better look at the figure, but still could only see what looked like a shadow. The figure grabbed an arrow from his quiver and placed it in the bow, firing it at Otzi’s shoulder. Otzi bit his lip trying to hold back the scream, he looked at his shoulder seeing that the arrow had went straight through. Holding his shoulder, he looked back at where the figure had been, but he was no longer there.

Otzi looked back at the sky, seeing that the sun was about to rise. Otzi tries to take the arrow out of his shoulder, no luck, only pain. Now that the sky was more bright, he could see more clear, he looked around for the mysterious attacker, still not seeing any sign of him. Otzi didn’t see him run away, he knew for sure he was still near. He grabbed the flint knife out of his bag, looking around, still not seeing anything. He sighed and sat down, hoping that he was gone, but he wasn’t. The attacker struck Otzi with another arrow but this time it goes into the back of his head. Otzi died a quick, terrible death. His attacker took back his arrows and started walking back to his village, leaving Otzi’s body and belongings there, in the freezing Alp Mountains.
