The amazing World of penguins

 

    Have you ever wanted to learn about penguins? Well now is your time to learn about penguins! Did you know that penguins can dive up to 2,000 feet in the water?   This bird can’t fly but it can fly threw the water.  Penguins can also stand 3 feet tall and weigh up to 100 pounds,cool right!     Antarctica has the most harsh weather that only the penguin can live in.  The weather in Antarctica is -75 degrees below 0. Bright ice and snow covers a lot of land.  The temperature never  goes above 32 degrees F.  Antarctica covers 5,400,000 square miles. Antarctica is the windiest place on Earth.  Antarctica has the highest elevation.  It is about 7,500. This habitat makes it a challenge for the penguins.      

 

    This paragraph is about the Emperor Penguin adaptations.  The warm feathers on the outside of the penguins and the inside help from not dying of freezing weather.  The camouflage on a penguin helps it from getting eaten.  Their black backs help when they are swimming at the bottom of the ocean it because when the prey are down looking for penguins all it sees is a black back that blends into the bottom of the ocean. Their white bellies blend in with the skie, so when the prey are coming up from trying to get the penguin at the bottom it will see the white belly that blends into the skie.  Another adaptation that the penguin has is its body shape like a torpedo. Their torpedo like body helps them dive really deep.  The distance they can dive is about 2,000 feet down in the ocean. That is all I have for the penguins adaptations.             

 

    There are a lot of fantastic facts about penguins and here are some of them! The penguin egg is the size of a avocado. When the penguins get in the group huddle it can get up to 100 degrees f. They rarely feed chicks that are not theirs. They find penguins by testing their pooooooooooooop.! Ooooooooooooow. The female only lays one egg at a time.
