Letter Days Next Week:
Monday-Day C-wear tennis shoes!
Tuesday-Day D
Wednesday- Day E
Thursday-Day A-bring back your library book
Friday-Day B-EARLY DISMISSAL
ONLY PM KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS WILL COME ON FRIDAY!
What we will be working on this week:
- Please review the following high frequency words with your child at home: I, am, the, little
- Please have your child practice reading and writing the high frequency words that we’ve learned so far
- This week we will be concentrating on identifying and writing the letter M. We will discuss the sound of M as well as words that begin and end with the M sound.
- In math we are working on counting up to 10 objects correctly and writing the numeral correctly. Writing the numerals to 10 would be a helpful concept to practice at home. This can be tricky for Kindergarten students. I sent home a packet of our number songs that we are using in class to help students learn how to properly write each letter.
- In writing we are working on coming up with a topic for a sentence and then counting out how many words are in our sentence.
As always, please let me know if you have any comments, questions, or concerns!

Dear Families,
Each week a decodable book will be sent home with your child. This is a paper book with simple text that allows children to practice reading the high frequency words that we are focusing on that week. Students receive a copy to take home as well as a copy to keep at school in their book box. The copy that is sent home is your copy to keep. Students will accumulate many of these books throughout the year; and they will be quite excited to share their reading skills with you at home.
Thank you for all that you do to ensure your child’s academic success!
