“1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and Tondue!” Blog Challenge Week 3

Over the weekend of March 19-20 I went to a Cecchetti Conference. A little bit about Cecchetti: Cecchetti is a form of ballet. Yes ballet is ballet, but there’s 2 different types. Cecchetti is more straight on and very sharp movements, if you make a mistake it’s very noticeable. The 2nd one is the one that I take a different type that is more of a very flowy type of ballet. Even though they are 2 different types of ballet you must have the same posture and positions of ballet. You’re probably thinking “Why did she do the CECCHETTI Conference if she doesn’t take it?” Seems pretty weird to do it but the whole conference isn’t Cecchetti. Yes some things there are Cecchetti but not all of it, if it were all Cecchetti I probably wouldn’t do it.

For example, the conference has other types of dance genres (4 others) Contemporary (my favorite thing there), Strengthening and Conditioning, and Mexican dancing. The Contemporary and Ballet were the full 2 days, but the Mexican and Strengthening+Conditioning were only 1 of the 2 days. Mexican dancing was kind of like the Spanish dancing that some people do where there stopping their feet and moving their skirts, that type (2nd day). The Strengthening/Conditioning was stretching and rolling your feet out with tennis balls.

Summary of all this (above):

This might all confuse you but the Conference was 2 days long, a whole weekend. Each day you had 4 classes, all together 8 classes total. The Contemporary and all of the ballet were both days. The strengthening and conditioning was one day as well as the Mexican dancing. I was in level B  (intermediate) I would’ve been in c (advanced) but since it was ballet, which was my first year since I was little my teacher signed me up for B.

I had such in credible teacher 3 of which from ABT, and one from Joffrey, all dance colleges. It was also a pretty awesome experience because I got complemented a lot there for many things, one thing was just smiling. The London teacher Mrs. Brooker is from ABT and was one of the 2 ballet teacher I had. She said that when I smile when I dancer it is simply beautiful, I took very importance to that coming from a teacher who doesn’t even know me but decides to say things to me like that. She also used me as an example and said I have beautiful feet, which meant very pointed and whenever she said how our feet should be mine were like that. As for Contemporary, I got to perform a duet, with my best friend. He said to me very nice and while dancing would say “YEAH”.  + a lot more of great complements.

This conference was a great experience to “Leap” into and shashma into a different side of my comfort zone. It was a great experience and I can’t wait for next year!

Commenting

I think commenting is very important so here are some tips:

Make sure the content is very good

That is important so it starts conversation an leads to something interesting. Also, you want your comment to make sense and

Example of bad:

Hi this is good, I like the picture

Example of good: Hey I like the picture you added it gave me a better understanding. Just next time check spelling…….

Get more detailed with what you’re saying

Another good tip is STAR,WHISH, and WONDER

Star: something you liked or they did good of

Whish: Something to improve on

Wonder: as a question to start a conversation

Also you want your post to be interesting so people can leave comments and interact with each other.

Those are some tips that I think are most important for commenting or even posting!

“Lights, Camera, Action!”

Tanner: Italicised

Michaela: Bold

We think drama can help you better understand the feelings and viewpoints of characters because it’s coming to life, also drama can really astonish readers if it is used in the correct way to, and lastly because drama tells us a lot about the characters ways and personalities. Because of these things we can get a better understanding of what is happening and the different things that are going on. Drama can also get the reader’s attention very quickly

Making drama come to life helps us because we can actually see what’s going on. Drama can really spice up a decent story. Drama can also really help us to understand the characters thoughts and what they are feeling like, angry, confident, sad, happy, etc. In a book we may tell by the details in the story how they’re feeling, but when it comes to life “that’s when the magic happens”.  As well as their motions/actions they do. In a book we can not physically see what’s happening.

Drama can is also very important because in a story drama can really take a hold of the reader and put them into the story itself (Grab the reader’s attention). Who would want to watch a play that is so boring, and/or read one. Grabbing the reader’s attention is very important so that they enjoy it. Without Drama in a story the book/story would never even have anything a story is supposed to have like, happy, sad, exciting, romantic details that would make the reader(s) board.

Because of these reasons we better understand the feelings and viewpoints of characters.By coming to life, drama can effect the readers opinion, it can grab the audience/ readers attention, and lastly it can tell us a lot about certian characters actions and/or feelings.

Q:Imagine that you found a package of magic seeds that can grow anything, what would you grow? Explain.

A: I would wan’t to grow pineapple. The explanation behind this is because I absolutely love pineapple! It’s my favorite fruit. If not pineapple then I would wan’t the seeds to grow clothes, and shoes. Because I could always use some more clothes. The only thing is these seeds wouldn’t give me 1976 clothes, or what everyone else has, it would be my own style. The tree would also grow Converse, they’re my favorite shoe brand, why not a new pair of shoes everyday growing from seeds, nothing out of the ordinary or anything. Who wouldn’t love pineapple, and/or  clothes growing from “magical” seeds. That’s what I would do if I found a package of magical seeds that can grow anything.

All About Me- Blog Challenge Week 1

Hey, my name is Michaela (Ma-kay-la). I am 12 years old and my birthday is in Fall, November. I do 2 activities out of school. For my school district I do Lacrosse, this is my 1st year. It previously started this week on Monday (March 7th), I absolutely love it! Another one of my sports activities is dance, I’ve been dancing ever since I was 2 years old, and now I’m 12, so that’s a lot of years dancing. I take 7 different genres (the types of dances) of dance.

  1. Tap
  2. Contemporary
  3. Musical Theater
  4. Hip Hop
  5. Ballet
  6. I use to take Acro which is like a cheer/gymnastics class at my dance studio but recently dropped out because of lacrosse interfering with my dance schedule. I have 1 sibling, a brother named Joe. 2 pet cats, 1.  named Candy Cakes and another cat named Crystal. Besides doing Lacrosse and Dance, I love to read, especially ones that have love, that might sound weird but books like Fault in Our Stars, If I Stay, Tuck Everlasting. Where the whole story isn’t about love, but has just enough to grab your attention. I also enjoy watching Football. My favorite team are the Philadelphia Eagles. My favorite player was Maclin #18 but he traded for another player and is now on the Chiefs, but I still enjoy watching him play. That’s a little bit about me!

Partners favorite memory

Noah K’s favorite memory

Noah’s favorite memory is when he went to Knoebels over the summer for the last time as a whole family. It was his most memorable experience because he got to go on his favorite ride, the swings. The swings is basically where you go on these regular swings but with a back and a strap to tighten you in. Then, as the ride goes on you go higher and higher in a circle (there’s multiple other people on swings too). He also did a lot of other fun things he enjoyed like, roller coasters, and the motor boats.

Noah described the sound of Knoebels pretty loud, but just full of happiness, laughter, and all the  ride’s  little theme songs. What’s the smell, smell like? Well it smells like popcorn and overall just food. Knoebels also has lot of games and rides everywhere you look.

If you wondering where such an awesome place is located, it’s located in Pennsylvania in the Mountains.

He also likes this place because it has amazing pizza. Noah said it was “RRREEAALLYY GOOD”. It does sound pretty good, he recommends.
That’s Noah’s most memorable place, Knoebels, and why he likes going there, what it sounds, smells, and looks like. He can’t wait till this year!

EXPECTATIONS OF A PANDA’S LIFE:

Monday:

Wake up

Eat

Take just a nap

repeat

Well, at least that’s what most people think my daily life is, but it’s actually everything  but ordinary. I wake up to bright blue skies welcoming me as I wake. Some of my friends as well join me for a quick game of bamboo. Bamboo is a pretty simple but fun game I like to play with friends. All of the contestants must grab 1 piece of bamboo, not , not 10, just 1. The you place it on an angle, perhaps leaning against a tree or any wall. Then you and friends can see who can make it up to the top of the stick the fastest, or make it up top the first. Of course with  an occasionally bite of it on the way up, 1 minute of climbing bamboo really works up a sweat. Afterwards, I then go to see which odd species are visiting me today. They’re just so odd because they wear box shaped things on their feet.
