Let it Glow!

Today in Language Arts students learned about animals that have bioluminescence and we learned why certain animals glow.  We have been working on asking and answering questions about a text we have read. Students thought of some interesting questions and they may need help searching for the answers at home. We read the article by the light of our glowsticks!

First Day

Welcome back, and THANK YOU so much for all the generous donations that were made to our classroom.  I would also like to thank you for allowing me to be your child’s teacher this year.  We have a wonderful group of kiddos in our homeroom and I cannot wait to learn more about them!

If you have not done so, please fill in our back to school survey

Please contact me with any questions or concerns that arise throughout the year.  I look forward to meeting you all on Back to School Night on September 5th at 6:00.

Welcome Back!

Hello second grade families!

I hope you are enjoying your summer and are looking forward to a great school year. Our second grade team is asking that families fill in this brief survey so we can gather some information from you prior to the start of the school year.

Please click here to access the survey. Enjoy your remaining summer days and we look forward to seeing you soon!Reach for the OceanCreative Commons License Kirt Edblom via Compfight

On Friday, students enjoyed conducting a worm investigation.  We felt, observed, and measured earthworms.  Students learned about the different body parts and labeled a worm diagram.  Some students were a little more excited to touch them than others!

Spring Has Sprung!

As the weather turns warmer and the sun shines brighter, we have been busy in the classroom learning about plant and animal life cycles.  Students are working on a habitat presentation while learning about different plant and animal adaptations.  Check out some of our science experiments:
