Just for fun, try John Feinstein’s mystery, Change-up, about 2 teenage sport reporters covering the world series when they discover some problems with a rookie pitcher that they go on to investigate.  Like other books by this author, there is a lot of sports related action.

In Out of Order, by A. M. Jenkins, the ball player, may be out of action if he doesn’t get his act together and his grades back up in the C range.  Is it worth it?  Can he do it?  And what about the girlfriend who dumped him … again?
