This week we were super busy learning so many new things in kindergarten. We started to dive into our new reading curriculum using the Reading Street series. This week we focused on previewing the alphabet (letters A,B,C,D,E), rhyming words, high frequency words I & am, counting words in sentences, characters in a story and much, much more. Please keep an eye out for the “Family Time” papers that will come home at the beginning of each week. They will give you a preview of what we are learning at school and also give you some ideas on how you can reinforce the same skills at home.
Other Reminders:
- Please try to help your child empty their take home folder each night and return it to school the next day
- Don’t forget to wear sneakers on gym days
- Scholastic Book Orders are due September 21st
- Please return volunteer forms ASAP if you are interested in helping out in our classroom
