Lisa Simmers Wins 2nd Place at Special Olympics

Lisa Simmers and her team mates won second place metals for soccer at the Special Olympics Fall Festival which was hosted by Villanova University on November 4 -6, 2011. Thirteen hundred and ninety five athletes and coaches competed in bocce, long distance running/walking, power-lifting, rollerskating, soccer and volleyball. The festival is the largest student-run Special Olympic competition in the world.

Business & You Learns About Smart Shopping

 

9th grade Business & You students took a fieldtrip to Yoder’s Grocery Store on Friday, November 04 to learn about unit pricing and being a smart consumer.  Students were given shopping lists where they had to find specific items and compare prices between brands and sizes.  On Monday they will calculate unit prices to determine the brand or size that is the most economical to purchase.
