Living In England – JWeaver

England: Day 1

It’s my first day in this country I’ve always wanted to come to. As of today, it’s a brisk overcast morning here Sheffield.

This afternoon, I enjoyed a tender fish sandwich at a pub nearby. England is known for seafood and other fried sandwiches so I couldn’t come here without one of those.

Now, I just finished lobster fishing off the coast of Preston. It was a great first day of that, catching 4 lobsters in total!

Today has been a great first day of this 2 day vacation and I can’t wait for more.

England: Day 2

I made myself some baked beans on toast and my word wasn’t it a scrumptious meal! But today we’re going to travel to Stoke to watch a football match between Stoke City and Arsenal.

It was a cold and wet afternoon like usual so luckily I packed an umbrella to keep dry.

The game just recently ended, as Stoke City defeated Arsenal 3-2. It was a brilliant game and could possibly be the highlight of my trip.

This England trip has been a great experience and I’m glad that I adapted to the new weather I’m not mostly used to.

Iraq- ASalim

I would live in Iraq in the 1970s. I would live there Because it looked very good it’s people were very nice. There were beaches nice trees I was great. And the colleges were also free so you didn’t even need to have money all you needed was to be smart.

If I was a college student I would usually wake up go to the beach rest get in the water all that beach stuff. Then study for anything for college tests anything that involves school. Then I might hangout with friends or family if you live nearby.

And there is family that I never saw before so I get to see more of my family that I never saw. I would get to see my dad’s dad, my mom’s mom, my mom’s sister. I would get to see a lot of family and some friends.

And that is why I would go to Iraq in the 1970s. I would be so happy that I can go to college without paying and seeing friends and family.

Otzi the iceman – S Babb

Hi my name is Otzi and I am the son of the chief of my tribe. I am wanted right now because my father is very ill and I will be chief soon but the people think I am not ready even though I am in my mid 40’s. I know it is just a matter of time until the elder sends out a search party for my killing. Just the other day I was walking in the street and people would stare at me as if they could choke me out with their minds and they attacked me. When I got out of the fight I had blood dripping down my hand for it had been cut. I had to get away, but how?

The mountains that were surrounding us was called The Alps and I knew it was a 6,500 mile climb to the top but there was no other way to get out of the town. I thought that if I got over the mountains I could build a hut and live there. I packed my bags and headed out. I had with me a copper ax, small arrowhead spear, three layers of clothing, and a pouch to hold things in. As I climbed the steep mountain about 1,000 miles up I slipped and felt hunger tighten it’s grip on me. The wind was not in my favor as it was knocking me off the mountain but my shoes helped. As I climbed to the top a deer walked by so I made a bow and two arrows but by the time I had finished the deer was gone so I traveled farther up the mountain only to see a goat and a deer about 3,000 miles up. I climbed to the deer and got it in the heart and the goat too. When I got to the top of the mountain there were plants and grains so I ate those too after that I made a net to catch any birds or small animals.

I was not feeling well and I was thinking the deer or goat was a bad choice because I probably had parasites and three diseases that were very common in spring. The bow I built had snapped and I was making another one. All of a sudden I felt a pain in my shoulder I passed out, and my heart rate went up, and I fell on a stone and the back of my head split. That was when I took my last breath.

Last breath of the Iceman-Rbrianna

The iceman

So haven’t you ever wanted to know a little bit about the iceman. Well after this you will never want to go outside in the cold again. Otzi or so called the iceman was scrawny, about 6’5,he war a hide coat, skin leggings, fur hat,and hay stuffed shoes. He is going to get a little beating in the end of this story. Lets just say its not going to be pretty. So it was a early morning and he was just leaving to to the Alps because it was a long hike.
He was about a couple miles from the Alps. He was traveling with a copper age axe, fire starting supplies, a quiver loaded with 12 arrows but only 2 were finished, and a flint knife. What he ate one a daily basis was deer, grains, and goat.
He really didn’t see anyone there. Then he was hiking up the Alps when he felt his stomach just fell to the ground. He was fighting the pain of his stomach. He got up and started hiking up the Alps again but he didn’t get far because his stomach, So he stopped to take a rest .
He felt someone behind him but he ignored it. Then a couple minutes later he felt a sharp oble
He felt a person behind but he ignored it because he was going threw so much pain,But he should of listened to his gut. All of a sudden he felt a sharp object go into his shoulder. He started seeing blurry, then he felt queasy. Finally he felt and sharp object go into his skull. He knew right then and there that this was going to be his last meal.

The Iceman Sduval

The Iceman

The Iceman given the name Otzi, no not by birth, but by where he was found.  He was just a regular everyday hunter that got food for everyone that needed it in his new almost complete village. He had very much skill, he knew how to shoot a bow and arrow like a pro, not that anyone knew what a pro shot an arrow like at that time but, just like no other. There were always those people though that never really like you just because they always want to be the best, The Iceman had those people. His name was Cameron Diaz…He never liked Otzi because he was the best bow and arrow person the village had ever seen well until Otzi showed up..It’s not Otzi’s fault though that Cameron “fell off the wagon” I mean his dad died and yeah yeah people grieve in different ways for different amounts of time but it had been 7 whole years since he died I mean, come on. He should have picked up a bow and arrow or something to stay well at it because like I said he “he fell off the wagon” and  that had  then led Otzi to be the best…The Iceman always could’ve sworn that Cameron had it out for him..even enough to end his LIFE. Anywayyyyyyy, so The Iceman decided one day to start offering free lessons to the villagers that were interested maybe they could start catching their own things in a little while, not that Otzi cared he loved fetching food for the rest but who knows..He believed anyone could do anything..Even kill , and no I didn’t mean by your everyday dear and animals to eat and survive, yeah I meant like murder. Okay so to start off his lessons he went around asking everyone in the village if anyone was interested..He got a decent amount of people, Otzi was a good guy so he even had the courage to ask Cameron if he wanted to, “Hop back on the horse.” But arrogant as he is he just rolled his eyes and walked away. Okay so Otzi didn’t pay any mind to it and decided to continue on with his lessons he was was offering and like i said a decent amount of people showed..First he showed them all that he thought were the basics..After he thought he had taught everything in the basics category he decided to test EVERYONE’S knowledge and ask a few questions to make sure they fully understood .Turns out everyone got the hang of the basics., and then all of a sudden Cameron shows up and he doesn’t look too happy I can tell you that. He walked over to Otzi and confronted him about his lessons and asked him why he was such an attention hog. Otzi didn’t pay any mind he knew he was just mad.. He always was! Then Cameron had the guts to throw a punch and that triggered The Iceman. He had never gotten like that before he was just tired of it and couldn’t tolerate it anymore! Every time Cameron threw a punch Otzi threw one back. Then Cameron found a way to get Otzi on the floor and to take Otzi’s hand and scrape it on the ground until he saw blood..Otzi screamed like never before. Then Cameron said stay in your own lane and I’ll stay in mind..Otzi didn’t reply just rolled his eyes after getting up and holding his hand in pain..The Cameron runs off..  Last thing that he had said to Otzi before he had left once and for all was, “I’ll show you who the real bow and arrow king is!” Otzi didn’t really know how to interpret that.. Was that a threat? Was it a challenge? He honestly had no idea. The next day Otzi tried to forget about what happened but it was kind of hard with his hand bandaged up, instead he just kept replaying the moment in his head. He told all of the villagers and decided to go up to, “The Alps” to see if he could catch anything different other than his everyday animals.. So he packed many many materials and since he was the villages MVP(Most valuable person) he got rewarded with copper..no one new EXACTLY how but he was the village’s most biggest resource. All he knew is that it was fair enough. (Honestly he thought it was wayyy more than far enough considering how valuable it was back then considering it was only starting to get used right around that time…ANYWAY..he used the copper he had gotten and made it into an axe he thought it would be very useful and a great use of the copper. Not only that but he had a bunch of other stuff like, bows and arrows, a what I would say that today it would be a pocket knife but it’s wayyy less modern, a carrying case for the “pocket knife”, a fire starting kit, a backpack, and some other things. Anyway he started on his way and he goes through the woods and comes out pollinated because there was many of those flowers that let out much, much pollin and he probably ran into one or two or ten. He came prepared and wore three layers of clothes expecting just as he should that if he didn’t he would DIE. (Not literally I’m just using a little exaggeration) But then that’s when it starts to go down, he hears a noise creeping up on him wondering whether it was some sort of animal he was looking to kill or someone trying to ambush him, he kinda had an idea too. He started to step backwards going up farther on the mountain and he got high enough on the mountain running so fast he couldn’t even see anything that he passes he’s starting to slow down so he picks out a rock that he finds trustworthy to hide behind. He takes out his bow and grabs an arrow finishes it grads another and POW right after he finished just his second arrow….He got shot from behind. To be specific he got shot in his shoulder and the arrow went in so deep it cut right through his bone and hit an artery..causing him to bleed out quickly. As Otzi slowly passes he can no longer move anything..He had an idea of what happened..he had got shot by Cameron..He thinks he kind of saw hs light brown longer hair peeking out behind a tree and he was wondering is this what he meant by,”I’ll show you who the real bow and arrow king is!??” There were still many questions and wonders..Everyone in the village had been worried but they thought things like, “Come on it’s Otzi he knows exactly what he’s doing I’m sure he’s fine.” What they didn’t know is Otzi wasn’t fine he was dead..No witnesses, no one, he was completely isolated and no one had seen anything. (No one was around to see anything) But the questions still remains was it REALLY Cameron who was to blame for this terrible action? No one ever knew, not now, not ever.

Otzi the ice man-EHamer

The snow was melting. The flowers were starting to come out as winter was melting away. If you haven’t guessed already it was springtime in northern italy. Otzi the iceman was on a journey up north and he probably knew he was a little unprepared with weapons but didn’t think that he would need them. He had with him a flint dagger in his wooden scabbard, an unfinished bow, one quiver with 2 finished arrows and 12 not finished, a wooden backpack frame, a fanny pack carrying 2 pieces of flint, and wood stick that looks like a pencil with deer antler, a grass string, and a needle made from bone. Also he had some food including mushrooms tied onto a wooden stick and berries and pieces of antelope meat, a leather tassel with a marble bead, a net, and probably the most valuable at the time, a copper axe. His tools seemed to be in good shape, and because of his copper axe, we guessed that he was a very important person. Little did he know that he would never get to wherever he was going alive.

Before his journey up north, he seemed to have eaten some deer, a little bit of grains and some goat. Before he had died he was already suffering from 3 dieses so it was probably hard for him to go on his journey. He was also wearing 3 layers of cloths and even though he was underarmed, he probably felt it was necessary to pack light because of the big journey.

When he came up to the rockies, we predicted that he decided to take a quick break because he was getting very tired. There was some crackling coming from behind when suddenly, there was something sharp piercing through the back of his left shoulder. It was an arrow. Blood started gushing out and soon he was losing consciousness. He was getting drowsy. Because of the major blood loss, our guess is that he went into shock. Some of the symptoms were getting extremely sweaty, and his head and my heart were pounded intensely. He would get cold and clammy and extremely weak, when he fell forward and everything turned black. If you haven’t noticed already, that’s when he died. After all that had happened, the murder had pulled out the arrow because there were markings on the arrow head and if someone found the dead body, they would know who did it.

Many years later like about 10,000, me and my friends were hiking and we found his  bones and looked through his stuff. He seemed to have a lot of valuable tools so that means that he was very important at the time but due to his discovery now he is still very famous. As you can see the topic of Otzi the iceman still has some gaps to fill, but over all we do know one thing. It was a pretty incredible story.

I would live at the top of the mountain so i can see the view and the coolness up there is beter then the heat.then i would survive by the river water and i would boil it so it is clean then i would try to kill skwerl or rabbit with a old stick from a tree and tie a sharp rock to the end of it.then to stay cooler i would go swimming in the sea.

The last moments of the Iceman- MMyers

The Life Of The Iceman

Life was amazing. There was plenty of food and spring was on the way which meant warm weather. I wasn’t very big, but I didn’t care. I was 45 years old. I was even an important person in the world. You’re probably wondering why I keep saying “was”. Well, everything used to be that way but then my life changed forever. I was going about my normal routine and was leaving from a meeting with the mayor when all of the sudden… BOOM! I heard a sound so loud that it made the whole building shake. I turn around to see that the mayor’s office is on fire!

I run back up the stairs when someone jumps out from behind the corner with a gun. I know this fire wasn’t meant for the mayor, it was meant for me. I don’t think, I just do. Immediately I whack my fist into his mouth and he falls over unconscious. I don’t care about the mayor anymore I just run. I realize that I can no longer live in this town. I need to leave. But I am not prepared.

I run back to my house to gather supplies. I grab an axe, a 10 flint tip arrows, 2 finished flint tip arrows, and an unfinished bow. I change into an old t-shirt and jeans, pull on a long-sleeve shirt and grab a coat. Along with the axe, I grab a hatchet to cut down wheat and corn and other crops where i’m going to move. I grab my walking stick and my fishing net. I walk back into my house and grab some food and water jugs. It’s going to be a long walk to the next town. I grab some extra clothes to cushion the jugs. As I step out of my house I check to make sure the coast is clear. I walk down the walkway and run as fast as I can to get away from this town and from the enemies. What’s waiting for me at the next town. Who knows.

I run and I run till my old town is just a speck behind my. I ran into the forest and into the cover of the trees. I slow to a walk and take in my surroundings. Trees surround me like they are my enemies, and the birds sing that tune that your mom would sing to you when you couldn’t sleep. Everything was so beautiful but I knew I couldn’t linger on it to long. At that very moment, I heard the snap of a twig and suddenly, I truly was surrounded. 12 men surrounded me at every angle so there was nowhere for me to run. I would have to fight.

“What do you want?” I demanded.

“Oh, you know.” Said a guy to my left. “The usual. We want you dead!”

“Well sorry but that’s not going to happen.” I took a step closer to the guy and gave a hard kick to his leg. He lost balance and feel over. One man down. I thought. 11 more to go! I turn around to find that the next guy is ready for the hit. I only have time to get one of my arms up before he strikes. He slashes around with his knife and I try to grab his arm but he cuts my wrist. That’s it I have to get out of here! I thought. I look up and see that nobody is waiting for me in the tree tops. I grab the nearest branch and throw myself up into the trees in the cover of the leaves. It’s getting dark. I thought. Many times darkness can be better travelling weather than in the daytime. This can help me. I climb high up in the trees till my attackers are just a speck on the ground. They seem confused. I see one look up in my direction. I close my eyes and keep as still as I can get. No gunshots, no screams. I don’t think they see me. Eventually I hear the sounds of leaves and I hear the sounds of their voices getting quieter. Now there is nothing more than silence. I jump down from my tree and race off in the opposite direction that they came from. They went back into the town so I will keep going the way I was going. I am not stopping any more other than to sleep and to get food and water.

I run and I run, never stopping till I reach a mountain range In Northern Italy that I need to either get across, or around. I stop and put my fur coat on. I take a break to rest. I look at my hand to see if it’s ok. It is healing really good. The next morning I realize I am not in the best shape to do this. My stomach hurts and I feel like I will throw up. I keep going anyway. 1/4 the way up I stop to take a break. I find a cave where I can start a fire. I was sitting outside the cave with my back to the edge of the cliff. I estimated I was probably about 6,500 feet above sea level. All of the sudden, I felt something pierce my left shoulder blade. I started sweating, even though I was in the middle of the mountains in spring, I was sweating! I went into shock. It was so bad that I almost feel over the edge of the cliff. I felt my heart: it had gone up about 9 times as much as when I first began this journey. I felt my shoulder, something was sticking through it! I looked down and saw that an arrow had gone straight through where my artillery would have been. I saw the markings on the arrow. There was no doubt about it. This was one of my attackers arrows. I saw it in his pocket. I look back over my shoulder and see a face smiling back at me and I felt something hit my skull. A bullet. I don’t know how I knew, I just did. And that was when I fell, I feel towards that foot of the mountain, I fell towards my death. It was in that moment of realization that everything went black.

Iceman life and death a.k.a Otzi – JYang

Otzi

He lived in a village, a small one but an important one. The village was one of the main villages in the area and produced many crops and livestock throughout the area. One of the rulers of the village was a small old man named Otzi. He lived there all his life and his family had a lot of history in the village. They were one of the first in the town and therefore one of the richest and one of the powerfullest, if not the most powerful. Their rivals were another large family, not far behind Otzi’s family in power. They wanted all the power and a constant power struggle was always happening. Then one day, everything changed.

It happened when one of the men from one of the weaker families was murdered. Otzi’s rivals jumped on this opportunity, and did their best to frame Otzi. It worked. Before anyone else noticed, they carefully stole bronze tools from Otzi’s family, along with some arrows and made it look like someone from Otzi’s family was to blame. Because of the fact everything was handmade, almost everything was unique, and thus could be traced to the one who made it.

Not long after, the whole town knew about the man’s death. Another powerful family, had a member who was a blacksmith. He could tell who owned the murder weapons with closer inspection. Otzi and his family denied the claim, which anyone would do who is innocent, but anyone who is guilty would likely do too. Rumors spread, and with it, the people’s trust of Otzi and his family rapidly declined, as well as their power. Soon, Otzi’s nephew moved to another town as he was the one the weapons belonged too.

More followed not long after. Otzi, however, stayed behind along with a few others. He stayed because that was his home and his illness prevented him from moving much. People saw that as a sign he’s guilty, and that now he’s being punished. Now, because his family was a weaker one and also one that was “guilty” of murder, fights started between Otzi’s and his rivals. Otzi’s son was killed in one of these fights and that started a non-stop fight. Otzi only forgave and just wanted to live a peaceful life. To his disappointment, fires were started in Otzi’s house. Then his crops and livestock were taken and set ablaze. Otzi is now a homeless, ill, and a suffering man. His family faced worse as more people were killed and similar persecution occurred to anyone who might be allies of Otzi. Otzi was spared his life because he was more trustworthy, but others disagreed. As Otzi’s rivals grew more in power they said that anyone who sided with Otzi would be treated the same as them. That helped stopped most of Otzi’s support.

Then, someone came and tried to kill Otzi with a dagger. Otzi moved in time and it only sliced his hand. Then he pushed the man into a wall, hard, knocking him out. Some bystanders saw this, and so did his enemies. They yelled “Quick! Otzi’s trying to kill someone!” and news quickly spread. Otzi hearing this and knowing he would be killed without a fair trial, quickly packed his unfinished bow, arrows, ax, and dagger. Otzi put some overcoats on and ran out quickly. He bumped into a storage of grain, raining him in grain and some pollen too. He regained his feet and ran towards his door. He ran out the village as fast as he could with him being ill while trying to stay hidden. His stomach ached as he stumbled along.

After he was out of the village, he slowed down and headed towards the mountains. Most His family went up and over this particular mountain looking for another village outside of their enemies rule and influence. He stopped every now and then to rest. He picked up some of the grains on him and ate them. He wasn’t sure if he was safe, so he had to finish his bow and arrows. As he neared a small clearing, he stopped to rest for the night. He made a fire and gathered materials for his bow making and also some medical materials for his hand. He saw a goat and quickly shot it in the shoulder. The goat died quickly and now he had food.

The next day, he decided to go around a large forested area ahead. He would go down the mountain, but he would quickly go back to the right way afterward and start ascending the mountain again. He tried not long afterward from his unknown illness and sat down in a hollow. It was about midday and he needed some water and food. He was constructing a backpack to help carry his stuff and chewing on some deer meat. Then suddenly he felt a jolting pain in his shoulder. He turned around and saw the arrow in his shoulder and one of his enemies, a man, or a boy? Maybe the leader of his enemies? He couldn’t tell who his attacker is. Otzi, knowing he would die, closed his eyes and stayed calm. He felt his heart beating hard, intense bleeding from his shoulder, and soon, Otzi fainted. He stumbled down and hit the back of his head hard on a rock, and took his last breath.

Thousands of years later, he would be found and only part of who he is and how he died will be discovered. Also known as the Iceman he would be wildly unexplainable because of how old the preserved body is.

The End???

(Yes it is)

Iceman-The Mystery of his life and Death-EHoffman

No one knows what happened to the iceman. Some think it was a myth. But some people are trying to actually figure out what happened.

One day a few hikers were hiking the Otztal Alps in Northern Italy. They found a part of something sticking up out of the ground, as they dug they started uncovering something of what looked like a skeleton.  Otzi was a man in is mid forties he was believed to have been a small man as well. Otzi seemed to have had three layers of clothing and tough, durable bearskin shoes.

Otzi was believed to have come from Northern Italy in the base of the mountains. It is believed to have been in the springtime when the hornblossams were blooming in the deciduous forests. He brought with him a wooden flint tipped dagger and carried a copper ax which showed much importance. Based on what scientists have found in his intestines they believe that he had deer and cereals for his last meal, they also found flake of wheat and charcoal.

We don’t know why the iceman had all of the unfinished tools on him. We believe that he hurried up into the mountains and didn’t have time to make his bow and arrow. They found a roughly shaped stalk of yew and a leather unfinished quiver for holding his arrows.

The iceman was believed to have been in a fight with someone and that is the person who murdered him. They found a wound on his hand that had healed a little bit but not completely, that is believed to have been from a few days before he was killed. He was killed from behind which means that someone was most likely following him up the mountain. People have been trying to figure out who killed him but no one can.

When we found him he had a hole in his skeleton but no one quite knows what that is from. When they X-Rayed him they found a little piece of what looked like an arrow head. Apparently the arrow hit the main artery in his left shoulder and that is what killed him. He went into shock which means that his heart started racing he sweat through his clothes and went unconscious. How he died was he bled out. In conclusion Otzi the iceman is a mystery to some but overall is a very interesting and breathtaking story.
