Internship Fair – Employer Information
Is your business ready to host an intern for the 2020-2021 school year for the Fall and/or Spring semesters? Please commit to participating in the March 25, 2020, Internship Fair by completing this form.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Garden Spot High School will be hosting an Internship Fair. If your business is interested in the possibility of having an intern during the 2020-2021 school year, please consider participating in this event. Below are the details.
When: March 25, 2020, from 7:30 am – 11:15 am (I’d recommend arriving between 7am – 7:15 am to set up).
Where: Garden Spot High School New Gym
What is the Internship Program? Garden Spot High School allows high school seniors to have an opportunity to participate in an off-campus paid or unpaid internship. The students who typically participate in the internship program are the super motivated, college-bound student who loves school! The goal of the internship is to allow students to have an authentic working experience that will help them determine their future career and educational path.
What is the Internship Fair? On March 25, 2020, businesses will be given a table in the New Gym at the High School. Students will stop down between 7:30 am – 11:10 am to speak with the businesses in attendance about the opportunities available. The businesses will come prepared with an overview of what the business does and list of internship opportunities (minimum of 1 internship) available. A short description of the possible internship job duties should also be included. The business could also have an application available for the student to pick up and turn in at a later time.
Choosing an Intern: After receiving internship applications, the business can then interview the potential candidates and determine who they would like to hire for the paid or unpaid internship experience. The hiring decision will be communicated to both the student and the Internship Coordinator (Jill Hackman).
