Hello families,

Our sixth graders have been very busy.

In language arts, my students learned a new strategy to summarize material called 10% summary. Students are all also busy finishing up our posters from our last read aloud “The One and Only Ivan.”

In math, all sixth graders are working on a collaborative Rube Goldberg project, where they have to create five energy exchanges that result in turning on an item of their choice (light, music, etc.). In addition, we are working on positive and negative numbers, as well as coordinate planes and quadrants.

In social studies, students will perform a play this week centered around the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. They will also research representatives for various states.

I have been so impressed with the work my students have been doing. 🙂
