Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for coming in to discuss your child’s progress at conferences. Thank you for sharing your child with our sixth grade team. Thank you for being a part of a team who works to help your child achieve his/her greatest success. I thoroughly enjoyed the positive discussions we had about how much your child has grown this past quarter and the goals we have set for the rest of the year.

If I was not the teacher you met with at conferences, please feel free to contact me any time to discuss your child’s progress, or if you have questions. Together, working as a team, we can help make this your child’s best year.

In language arts, we just finished our STEM project. I am really proud of the great work your children did researching endangered animals. Each team did a class presentation and completed a poster, to demonstrate their knowledge. Hopefully, you got a chance to see their great work in the hall when you attended conferences. This week, we will start new books for our literature circles.

Our social studies lessons this month are focused on the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitutional Convention. Students are discovering how the Founders set up representation for each state in the federal government.

In math this week, students are discovering integers and graphing coordinates.
