Working hard – September

Hi families,

Your children are working hard. I would like to send some recent assessments home later this week.

In language arts, the sixth grade teachers asked students to bring in a 1-inch binder to keep assessments and important papers. If you sent one in already, thank you so much for your help. If you have a problem getting a binder, please email me and let me know.

In Math, we are continuing work on decimals, fraction division, greatest common factor and least common multiple.

If you have any questions, please contact me at

Have a great week!

Our first full week, with a half day Wednesday

Hello families,

We are in the full swing of sixth grade now. Your children are doing a great job getting used to our daily routines.

In social studies, we are learning about how the colonists created our government.

All math classes are working on division of fractions.

In language arts, my class started a personal narrative for their first writing piece. In addition, we are working on becoming better readers by asking questions and referring back to the text.

Please check each teacher’s blog for more specific information about your child’s math and language arts work.

If you have any questions, please email me at:

Open House this week

Hi,

As we begin our third week of school, I am very impressed with our students and their ability to get back into the flow of school.

This week, each LA class will have their first spelling test and reading test. We will also have our first STAR reading test on Friday. In math, we are working on dividing fractions.

I am looking forward to meeting families this week at Open House to discuss our year. Open House is Tuesday, 5:30-7:30.

If you have any questions, please email me at:

Thanks.

Have a great week 🙂
