It’s getting very busy

Hello parents and guardians,

Can you believe it will be May this Friday? Where has the year gone?

We have some very exciting events lined up for the next six weeks. Our biggest event, besides graduation, will be our class trip to Washington DC. To prepare for this trip, your children will be working on a large collaborative project in both Language Arts and Social Studies. Students will be assigned a Washington DC landmark. For the next three weeks, the students will work on 3 components of the project. This week, teams will work collaboratively to create an informational poster with the purpose of educating their classmates about the importance of this landmark they have been assigned.

In math, students will take the module 5 geometry test on Tuesday, May 5.  This week, we will finish our geometry unit by working more with volume and surface area. On Monday, we will review all of our topics before students take the test on Tuesday.

Please do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions.

So proud of our students!

Hello parents and guardians,

I am so very proud of the great effort our students have given over the past few weeks. My students have been working hard in all subjects areas, and really seem to be doing their best work. I am very excited to see their growth. 🙂

This week, students will not have homework for my classes, due to the final days of PSSA testing, which are Tuesday through Thursday. Just a reminder that it is very important that your children get good rest this week, and eat a good breakfast before they come to school. Our sixth graders have been working very hard and are very ready for this test.

If you have any questions about our testing or anything else, please feel free to contact me.

Busy week

Hello families!

I hope you enjoyed your extra time together with the four day holiday.

This week, our students will be very busy. In math, we continue our work in geometry. We are working on finding the area of compound figures. In language arts, students will be working on creating a figurative language book. In social studies, students are studying some of the basic rights presented in the Bill of Rights.

This will be our last week before state testing begins next week.
