The Lost City

What do you SEE?

I saw all of the mist surrounded towns of Machu Picchu. I also saw the old highways that went up through the ruins of the “Lost City”.

What do you THINK?

First, I thought that the high misty mountains were mysterious with wonder because of how old the town of Machu Picchu was through those HUGE mountains. Then, I saw the old roads that climbed up through the mountains and thought how long that would take to build and drive up to the peak of the mountains where some of the people lived.
What do you WONDER?
(During your expedition what are you wondering about? What questions come to your mind?)
I wonder how the people on the Lost City thought of putting the rain catchers on the mountains so that they could have water supply for themselves and for their plants?

I can connect to the text that I saw the misty mountains in the textbook Lost City and in the expedition I saw the city and the mountains, as were listed in the book.

In the book, I thought that the explorer wouldn’t be able to get through those high mountains, but in the expedition, I found that you can travel up the mountain on roads that go across the mountains to see the trails and the “Lost City”.
What do you still WONDER after experiencing the Expedition and reading the text?

I still wonder why the people that lived in the Lost City lived in the mountains?
