Congratulations to our SPOTVB captains: Senior, Hannah Williams and Juniors, Maddy George and Katelyn Snader. Hannah and Maddy were honored as 1st team LL League Section 2 all stars while Kate was honored as a 2nd team LL League Section 2 all star.
Additionally, the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association selected Hannah and Maddy as District 3 AAA all stars. Hannah was named to the first team and Maddy to the second team.
The Garden Spot girls’ volleyball program has another excellent season. Our Varsity team won their 5th Lancaster Lebanon League Section 2 title, were LL League Finalists and District 3 AAA Quarterfinalists finishing the season at 15-4. Our HS JV team finished their season undefeated and our MS Varsity team also finished their season undefeated! Tremendous accomplishments!

will compete inthe PIAAS State Cross Country Championship meet on November 3rd in Hershey, PA. Courtney qualified by placing 29th in the District 3 Championship and James qualified by placing 5th in the boys District 3 Championship.

The Garden Spot Girls’ Volleyball team won their 17th consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award for this past calendar year. This summer the girls were notified of their honor. This past year’s team had a team cumulative average of over 4.0!!

On August 21st, Garden Spot Senior, Aaron Fricke, carded a school record 9 under par, 63, with 7 birdies, 2 bogeys and 2 eagles at Foxchase Golf Course.
His score was a not only a school record, but also the second lowest score shot in Lancaster-Lebanon League History behind Jarred Texter’s 62 at Fairview in 2003. Congratulations Aaron on your excellent score!
Andy Schrantz (grade 11) recently won both of his events at the Lancaster-Lebanon League Swimming & Diving Championships, which were held on Feb. 9th. (Officially, we’re not a school sanctioned sport with Garden Spot therefore he must swim independently as a non-swim school) Andy won both the 100-yard backstroke (48.31 his personal best) and the 100-yard butterfly (52.65).
Next, Andy swam at the District Three Swimming Championships at Cumberland Valley High School on Fri., March 2nd and Sat., March 3rd. Andy finished 3rd in the 100-yard butterfly (50.96) and finished 2nd in the 100-yard backstroke (52.41) which guaranteed him a spot to swim at States!
Andy will get the opportunity to swim with other top seeded swimmers from throughout the state of PA at this weeks’ (Wed., 3/14 and Thurs., 3/15) PIAA Class AAA Swimming & Diving Championships, held at Bucknell University. Andy is seeded 9th in the 100 fly and 13th in the 100 back.
Andy swims throughout the year with the Diplomat Swim Club at Franklin & Marshall with the Lancaster-Lebanon League’s other top swimmers!
