PSSA’s

The PSSAs are next week.  Write a blog expressing your feelings about the PSSAs and standardized testing.  What do you predict will be a strength for you this year? What do you predict will be a weakness for you this year?

First of all if you don’t know what the acronym “PSSA” stands for, it means Pennsylvania School System of Assessment.  The PSSAs are definitely one of the hardest tests we take all year. on the PSSA’s they ask you a bunch of different questions that are on math and ELA. During the PSSAs you take several days to do math and ELA tests. I think that the PSSAs are necessary but they don’t need to be taken as seriously as they are. yes they are important but I don’t think that in order to go to the bathroom you don’t need to call the office and have somebody take you. I also don’t think that for a written response they need to put a sticker over it so that you can’t look at it. Teachers are watching us all of the time during the PSSAs so I don’t know how we could fool them if we tried.

This year I think that my biggest strength in math will be percentages, written responses or multiplying fractions. In ELA I think that my biggest strength will be written responses an comparing and contrasting. My weakness in math will probably be fractions because sometimes I have a hard time turning them into decimals when needed. In ELA my biggest weakness will probably be generalizing. When I am generalizing I have a hard time figuring out which one is actually correct because a lot of times they all seem correct. If you take the PSSAs comment what you think of them down below. Happy Blogging!

  1. Hi Abby!
Star: I like how you organized your post. It was very easy to follow.
    Wish: I wish I had a wish.
Wonder: I wonder, which PSSA is easier for you ELA or math? ~Trinity

  2. First of all thank you Trinity for commenting on my blog! For the PSSAs so far ELA is the easiest… obviously because we’ve only done the ELA.😂 Thank you for also giving positive feedback on my post, it is greatly appreciated. I will make sure to visit your blog again soon. Happy Blogging!
