Hello everyone!

Can you believe that we’ve made it half way through the 2018-2019 school year already?!  Wow!  This school year just seems to be flying by.  Before you know it, May will be here so I want to make you aware of one very important date in that month.

Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 6:30pm we will hold our 5th annual Elementary Gifted Expo in the multipurpose room at Blue Ball Elementary.  I can’t wait to see what our students teach us this year!  If you’ve never attended before, you are in for a treat.  In just a few short weeks your students will be coming home with a contract that they’ve signed, indicating their topic of choice to research for the next several months.  This is a process.  We will learn how to dig deep and carefully go through each step of the Independent Investigative Research Process.  While the end product is exciting and fun, it is not the most important part of this learning.  Our process is where the best learning will take place.  So, please encourage your student throughout these upcoming months as we take our time to transform into experts.

Speaking of opportunities to hear experts, I want to make you aware of LC PAGE’s annual Super Saturday event.  It will occur this year on March 30, 2019 from 9 am to noon at the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences in Lancaster.  Participants in grades K-6 choose three 45-minute seminars from a diverse selection of topics.  Past programs have included robotics, animation, theater, reptiles, creative writing, LEGO machines, just to name a few. While the kids are attending, parents may choose to attend a free presentation on giftedness.  I highly recommend this event.  I will send an email when I am aware that registration is open.
