It’s mid June and it’s blazing hot. There is nothing but mountains and dead grass around.  A few houses here and there and a little “town pump” where there is a grocery store and a gas station. Other than that it’s vacant. I really need water so I go and walk out to the town pump. It’s hard  to adjust to such harsh weather. There is a little swimming hole back around the mountains. Other than that there is nothing really close. I live on my ranch. I have a house that doesn’t have A.C. so I have my windows open. It’s hot today and not much air is moving. I go out to feed the animals and give them water. I can only Imagine what it’s like for them. Even though it gets really hot in the summer, in the winter it gets very cold and we get a lot of snow. It’s hard to adapt to such harsh weather. One minute it’s blazing hot and then the next is freezing with a lot of snow. You have to be ready for the weather to change. With the grass so dry it’s hard to farm. The soil is not as rich here as it is in different places. I still love this place. Sometimes when it gets really hot, to help with the heat I will turn on fans if there is no air moving.
