About

Our Class

We are a group of 7th grade students studying world cultures and ancient world history in Eastern Lancaster County School District located in New Holland, Pennsylvania. We will use this blog to share our learning and ideas with our community both locally and globally.

Our Class Blog

This year, we will begin to use blogging as a means of expanding out learning, practicing digital citizenship, and connecting with and collaborating with students from all over the world. Student blogging is a wonderful means of increasing student engagement, collaboration, creativity, responsible digital citizenship, literacy skills, and understanding of course content. Blogging helps give students an authentic, but supervised and cyber-safe environment for students to share their personality, learning, ideas, and writing. I can’t wait to see what this year’s class creates and how they collaborate with other classmates and learners all over the world.

Celebrate our Successes!

We invite you to share our learning through our blogs. However, our blogs are works in progress with some work being polished and others as a draft form. We are learning to build writing skills and learning to communicate effectively on a digital platform. Mistakes are valuable to us and we celebrate them because they shape the direction of our learning. We welcome positive comments, constructive criticism, and questions that promote a respectful dialogue between the blogger and the audience.
