Hello! I’m Katie Gentile. I’m very excited about my second year at Blue Ball Elementary teaching 2nd grade! I have been with ELANCO for the last 5 years teaching 3rd grade at Brecknock. Prior to teaching at Brecknock, I spent a year at Manheim Township teaching 4th grade and kindergarten. In 2012, I completed my students teaching experience at Brecknock. I graduated from Millersville University in the Spring of 2012 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2016, I earned my Master’s degree from Millersville as well in Language in Literacy. Outside of teaching I enjoy running and have shared that love as a coach for Girls on the Run in our district for the last four years. I currently live in Ephrata with my puppy, Tucker!
We will be using positive discipline to have wonderful, productive days. The students will earn stars and High 5’s for making good choices and following our guidelines for success at Blue Ball. In second grade, we will learn many important standards that the students will use for the rest of their life.
I’m greatly looking forward to the upcoming year! I believe in making strong connections with students as well as families. I’ll be sharing glows and grows as we move through the year. We will have ongoing communication through email blasts and our classroom and team blog throughout the school year.
