Horseback Riding Adventure!!

I love to horseback ride. In fact my parents also rode too when they were younger too and they started back up again. I take lessons every Thursday and it is a lot of fun.

Adventure on the 20th of September!!

I did something really fun when I went horseback riding.

When I went horseback riding I rode a new horse at my barn. I was really scare! I had never ridden her  before! All that I knew of her was that she was a jumper horse and was really fast. I also was going to rides another horse in the same lesson because on the sheet it said Bess right next to Splash. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you something, Splash is the name of the horse I was riding (the one that was a jumper horse).  I had never ridden both of the horses that was on the list so I was extra scared.

While we were in the lesson I grew over my fear. Splash really fast, but I liked her. When it was time to canter (run) I was nervous but I had fun at the same time. At the canter she was really fast, and when she canter I couldn’t hear anything all that I heard was the wind but somehow I knew what my teacher was saying. But all while this was happening I didn’t breath!! How could I forget to something that keeps me alive!! At the end of my canter my face was red or so what my friend said.

After that we switched horses. I was now on a horse named Bess and I had never ridden her before. Bess I a big horse. She is bigger than Splash. But Splash is a pony (smaller than a clydesdale but bigger than a mini horse). A pony is about  58 inches tall. But bess is like 72 inches tall so going from a small horse to a big horse was very nerve racking for me. While I was on Bess I cantered and I jumped on her. I was really nervous for jumping because I had a little set back with jumping ever since I jumped on P.J. and my helmet covered my eyes after a jump. But that is a different story. But anyway I was surprised that she had a very smooth jump because I thought that she wouldn’t because of her size. But I was smooth and I liked her jump. This was almost really the first time that I liked to jump, beside on a horse named Chessy. (Chessy boo boo !!!!)  But still.

This was my first adventure that I was going to tell you about so don’t think that this is over yet.

Adventure on 27th of September!!

Today I rode a the horse Bess. But this is a whole different adventure.

You know already I am riding Bess. But instead of last time when I was in the outside ring we rode in the indoor ring. Yippy… I don’t really like the indoor ring because it is so small and riding a big horse with other horse is not really what I really enjoy.

While I was riding I cantered but I was with a group and in a small ring so a barley got to canter because I was faster than all of the other horses. It was very hard for my. we also had to go over a pole at the same time. But it was still fun.

After that we jumped. The jump wasn’t big though. It was small. Oh wait I need to tell you something, once I jumped a jump that was 18 in jump (2 ft and 2 inches) and I was very proud of myself. But back to this. When we jumped we had to trot (jog) up to the jump and then land at a canter!! It was very hard and fun at the same time. Some of  horse didn’t pick up the canter after the jump but some did.

This was another fun ride. I can’t wait for next week’s ride.

Adventure on the 4th of October!!

Today I rode Bess again!! But we rode in the outside ring. Yay!! I was so excited.

While we were riding we trotted then we started to canter and that was fun. I don’t think that I told you that Bess has a really smooth canter and it was fun too. When we cantered we did it in groups.  I did it with someone else and they were riding P.J.! We cantered in both directions.

Then we did something fun. We didn’t jump. But we did do FLAG RACING. It was so much fun. I did the racing on Bess. When It was my turn I got the stick (flag) and when I came around the bend bess took into a canter and I couldn’t stop her! But eventually she stopped. My time was 1 min and 40 seconds!! I had the best time, I got in first place! (No I didn’t I got in THIRD  place because 2 people dropped their sticks.
