10,000 Hour Rule & Screen Time!

Did you ever hear about the 10,000 hour rule?  How long do you play video games for? If you’ve never heard about the 10,000 hour rule, here’s what it is:  The 10,000 hour rule is where you spend a certain amount of time a day to study, or practice something. Then after 10,000 hours, usually 10+ years, you have mastered the skill.  Hey, about the video games, did you know that most kids ages 0-8 use devices for 2 hrs 19 mins, and kids ages 8-12 use devices for 4 hrs 36 mins!? That’s a lot of time used on screens, but I used a computer to write this blog post, so it’s not all bad.

Now you may be wondering, how do the 10,000 hour rule and kids’ screen time even relate to each other?  Well, if you spend to much time on video games, then you won’t have time for the 10,000 hour rule, so if you want to achieve your goal, cut down on screen time!  If now I persuaded you to use the 10,000 rule, (even though this is meant to inform you), don’t worry about practicing for 10,000 hours, you can master something in less time than that!  (Depending on the thing you want to master.) Anyways, that’s all I have to say, so goodbye!
