Banana? STUBC#17 Activity 2

I wanted a banana, I wanted baloney

But this cook, must be a phony

I told the waiter what I wanted today

And guess what, not a word did he say

The cook said he’d do it, and a good cook he was

He got a banana, and gave it to my cuz’

My cousin ate it like a pig, watching him was not fun

And when he was done, oh, when he was done

He gave it back to the cook, and I was wondering why

And then he brought out my lunch and I said, “OH MY!

There was the banana peel all yellow and green

And the baloney inside, oh this cook is so mean

I didn’t touch the baloney, I didn’t touch the peel

But so mad this cook made me feel

I stomped out of the restaurant not even paying a dime

And I went to a new restaurant where I got a tasty lime

At the end of the day I was feeling sick

So I said goodnight to my dog named Mick

I sat down on my queen-sized bed

And I layed down to rest my head

    Hey Kathryn,

However, if you have a chance to see my blog, visit http://stevenonlineo.edublogs.org/
I hope you have a great end of your day!

    Hello again Kathryn,

I hope you had a good week. I see you haven’t posted for a while. I hope everything is ok. Just to check are you prepared for the commenting game that will be coming up as part of the Student Challenge in a couple of weeks?
    1. Have you at least 5 other student blogs linked on the sidebar of your blog; blogs from other students around the world, not just those in your class or school. I see you have done this.
    2. Do you have a blogroll or link category called Global students or Global classes. I put a link about how to do this in my previous message. Great I see you have done this too.

So Ms. Wyatt’s essentials in a great post are below. I have added whether I think you have achieved this in your most recent post:
    1. A catchy title rather than a straightforward factual one.
    2. At least one visual (with attribution) whether photo, cartoon, video or another web 2.0 tool like padlet or glogster. I like your picture and that you have attributed it.
    3. An interesting topic with your passion for the subject coming through
    4. A post that is well written and not copy/pasted from somewhere else. Yes certainly yours is.
    5. A post has been proofread and spellchecked. Yes it is accurate.
    6. One that is written in paragraphs – at least three of them. As it is a poem, it doesn’t need paragraphs… verses perhaps instead just to break up the text.
    7. One that includes links to other websites on similar topics – at least two of these. Many students are not doing this. There is a good trick to get people to read more of your blog and to stay longer. You could say, and if you enjoyed this post by me, why not read … and leave a link to another post.

Ms.Wyatt says that if your post covers the seven things mentioned above e.g. has a catchy title, includes at least one visual etc. etc., it will be added to the flipboard magazine.

Could you make any changes so that it would score 7 out of 7?

When you have done that, Ms. Wyatt suggests you go to the blogging challenge and leave a comment on this post.
Here is the link to the post she is talking about: http://studentchallenge.edublogs.org/2017/04/23/week-6-what-to-write-about/

Just to remind you she asks that you ‘mention what topic you wrote about and leave a link to your post’….not a link to your blog but to the post.

I would also make clear that this post is not ‘other homework’ but a response to the Student Blogging Challenge by adding the hashtag
#stubc17 Week 6 to the title.

Hope you find this helpful. With every good wish
    Merry Beau

This is not a true story. I did write this on my own. I went to your blog a few times and read most of the cat stories.
