This morning we woke up to another amazing day in Vietnam. We went to the Agent Orange Center for children and adults victimized by the harmful effects of Agent Orange. Though they had been dealt a difficult hand in life, they were still more than excited to see us. From us singing them children’s songs like “If You’re Happy and You Know It” to them break dancing to Gangnam style, we were all smiles. We especially loved the time spent playing with the children one on one. Later on, we went to lunch at a restaurant with American Food! (side note: Best. Burger. Ever.). We talked to both a Vietnam war veteran (Chuck Palazzo) and a man who was born with a disfigured hand because of Agent orange. Both shared their thoughts and ideas, opening our eyes to the hardships that this herbicide brought to families. Our last adventure of the day was an authentic Vietnamese cooking class. We traveled through the markets with our guides to see where they bought their ingredients, then crossed the river to get to our actual class. We each made our own spring rolls, rice paper, and more. Once that ended we had a relaxing night at the hotel.
