Lee Price

Lee Price,

Is the nicest person you will ever meet in your lifetime. He was my Grandfather and I loved him. Grandpa Price was the best because, he could always make us laugh even during hard times. My favorite memories with my grandpa were when we would just sit on the couch and watch T.V. I know, I know that this shouldn’t be my favorite memory but it is. My grandpa and I would always watch movie marathons and a bunch of cowboy movies. Also while we watched these movies I would count his coins which is a lot more fun then you think. My grandpa is the best because of his sense of humor, his kindness, his love, and so many other awesome things that make my grandpa the best person ever. Even though it has been two years since he died I can still picture his loving face that would make your heart melt every time you saw him. So yeah my grandpa is so important to me and he is just the best thing that you could ever ask for.

  • If you could do something that you’ve never done before.  What would it be and why?

If I had the choice to do something I have never done before I would want to travel around the world. I love learning about new places and different adaptations that people have around the world. I live in america and even though we have a lot of cool things here I would like to go and visit other places. I have already been to Canada but that is it. I hope to some day go to a place like, France, Italy, Ireland, Germany, China, Japan, Australia, and so many other awesome places. So I would love to travel around the world.

  • Is there a machine or a piece of technology you feel as though you couldn’t live without it?  Why?

If I’m Being completely honest I can’t live without technology. Technology is how I learn about everything really. Like the news for instants how can you know exactly at every moment what is going on in the world without the news. Yes, I know their is newspaper but that does not mean that they have all the answers. If I had to pick my favorite piece of technology it would definitely be a computer or tablet because you can access all different types of things and learn about everything. Like on a computer you would easily find out that on 11/14/17 it was the 131 anniversary of the whole punch. (How cool) you would never of known that unless you had a tablet or computer.

  • Write about something you desperately wanted as a child but never received.

Something I desperately wanted as a child was a phone. I wanted to talk to all my friends watch YouTube and Netflix and play games on my own phone, but I never got a phone when I was younger. I got an iPod and tablet but never a real phone.  I wanted one so badly also because my sister got one, and guess what I still don’t have a phone but that might change on 11/22/17.

A Hero?

“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” –  Christopher Reeve
  • What does this quote mean to you?
  • This quote means a lot to me because Reeve talks about what the characteristics are to be a hero and how you can become a hero or at least try to be one.
  • Going back to what we discussed at the beginning of this unit, name two traits a hero should have and why they need those traits.
  • A hero should also be a nice and caring person
  • They should be able to step in when ever needed
  • Who in your own life do you consider a hero?  Why?
  • I would consider my dad a hero because one he takes me almost everywhere.
  • Also because he always enjoys helping me with singing and acting because he is a singer as well.
  • Name one person from history that has the qualities of a hero?  Why would you pick that person?
  • There are so many people in the world that have helped out in history but I will have to go with George Washington.
  • Washington helped out a lot because he was the first president and he also served our contury.
  • If he was still alive he would deserve the medal Presidential Medal Of Freedom don’t you think?

Have You Ever Given Up?

Have you ever heard the poem?

The Man Who Thinks He Can – by Walter D. Wintle

If you think you are beaten, you are;

If you think that you dare not, you don’t.

If you’d like to win, but you think you can’t,

it’s almost certain that you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost;

For out in the world you’ll find

Success begins with a fellow’s will –

It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think that you are out-classed, you are;

You’ve got to think high to rise.

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go

to the stronger or faster man;

But sooner or later, the man who wins

is the man who thinks he can!

The theme of this poem is about, if you don’t believe in yourself you will never win the prize. I can tell that this is the theme of the poem because I found the key sentences that he said such as, “If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost;” This was one thing that helped me out a lot because just these seven little words describe so much about the entire poem. I have definitely given up before. I’ve given up on things that I know I could have won or I know I could have gotten a good grade on, but instead I gave up. After reading this poem I truly feel that I could have won or gotten a better grade on little things that could have turned into incredible things, but I guess we will never know because I gave up. How do you feel after reading this poem? Have you ever given up?

The “Perfect” Day!

Today was the most perfect day anyone could ask for and I want to share it with you. I woke up this morning to the sound of chirping birds, and the sound of a harp playing somewhere where no one could see it but you could still here it’s soothing music. My mom came up the stairs with a big stack of pancakes and all sorts of fruits i’m talking blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas, and I could go on. The fact is that my stack of pancakes looked beautiful.                                                                                                                                                                                               After I finished eating my amazing pancakes I decided to play on my tablet and saw the time. It was 9:30, I ran down the stairs as fast as a cheetah. I could feel the wind on my face when I was running. I jumped of the stairs and ran into the kitchen I asked my mom, “WE ARE LATE FOR SCHOOL!” I shouted. My mom calmed me down and said, “It’s a special off day just for you!” I squealed in excitement. Well what are we waiting for what are we going to do today?, I said. My mom then answered, “WERE GOING TO HERSHEY PARK!” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, but I knew once I heard those worlds I had to get ready as soon as possible so I have time to ride all of the rides.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I ran back upstairs and got dressed did my hair and brushed my teeth in at least 5 minutes. Once we were ready we went into the car and on our way to Hershey Park we stopped at Starbucks to get an amazing iced coffee latte. Once we finished our latte’s we got back in the car and saw a huge sale at forever 21 and had to go there and try on stuff. I got so much clothing and accessories it was awesome. Finally once we checked out we took all of the clothes that I got and put them into the trunk of our car. Okay now we weren’t going to stop anymore we were almost there. Once we got their we walked into Hershey Park and saw two people sitting outside with a sign that said, “Homeless everything was taken from us we need your help!” I felt so bad so I whispered to my mom and said, “what if we give them our tickets and we can give them all of the clothing we bought and help them out.”                                                            My mom thought this was a brilliant idea so we gave them our tickets and the clothes we just bought. We just thought it’s been a long day so let’s go home. On our way home we saw the homeless people that we helped out and it turns out that they had a daughter and that they won a sweet little dinosaur at the fair. I felt so happy for them and I hoped that they would have a much better life now. So I was excited to go to Hershey Park today but my day was actually better helping out others. So yeah I would say this, “Today was the perfect day!”

Why Weapons Should Be Banned…

I heard a terrible thing that their was a big more like massive shooting in Las Vegas Nevada. Sadly this shooting killed 59 people. (That is a lot!) I personally think that weapons should be banned.  Personally I think people shouldn’t be able to buy more then at least one. I know that is pretty a low number but really do you need ten different guns. NO! I didn’t think so. Also I think weapons should be band because who needs them. The only people       I think that really could use them and need them are police officers, because they are the only ones that have a true reason to pull that trigger. Now, I know there are people who like to hunt and I understand that but there are multiple different types of meat that you can buy at the store instead of hunting, or here is what we can do. We can have certain people that have guns just for hunting but the police and government will have to keep an eye on them just to be safe. I really hope you agree with me about this problem don’t forget to check out the rest of my blog.

Money’s Just Rolling On In!

What does the quote mean to you? “It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.”- Tom Brokaw, NBC News

Answer: The quote, “It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.”- Tom Brokaw, NBC News to me this quote is obviously talking about money I think that it’s more important to make money because then you can give the money to the poor and help people, I picked money because sometimes it’s hard to help the poor if you don’t have any money.

Do you think that it’s more important to make money or make a difference in the world?

Answer: I think it’s more important to make money. Here’s why I think that, if you have money it is super easy to help out because you have the money to buy them anything they need.

Who cares more about money, rich people or poor people?

Answer: I think rich people because poor people just want to have a life no matter what but rich people just go and spend all their money or they save all of their money but rarely do they give it to the poor.

What are some easy ways to make money?

Answer: You can make a lemonade stand or do a garage sale, a fundraiser,  sell items. You can do a lot of things to make money.

What are some of the problems with easy ways to make money?

Answer: You might not get money from it if people aren’t interested in what your selling. Also if  you have a bad past it might be harder to make money because people still might not trust you because of what you did.

Lake George, New York

Lake George, New York

Do you like to go and have fun with your family? If so then this is the best place for you and your family. Lake George by far is the best place to go on a summer vacation because of amazing opportunities like swimming, malls,educational learning , and way too many activities. This is exactly why Lake George, New York is the best place to go for a summer vacation.

First, swimming, let me just say it is called “Lake George” for a reason. There is a big gigantic lake. Also there is a beach there that is connected to a boardwalk where you can shop and eat. If you are not a beach person like me, then you have to go to a water park instead. One of my favorite water parks is Water Slide World. It has a wave pool, lazy river, waterslides, water volleyball, and a food court,but this is just some of the fun water activities to do in Lake George.

Also, There is a big mall. Inside the mall there is a bunch of unique stores, one of the stores there is called, Live, Laugh, Love, but there is way more stores at Lake George you just have to go to see them. Also there is places to eat. One place I highly recommend is The Barnsider. Personally they have the best macaroni and cheese, It is to die for. I can’t forget about the arcades. There is so many arcades. Last year I had the opportunity to go to three different arcades. It was awesome!

Third, Lake George is very educational. There are many forts that were used in battle by people like George Washington and many others. One of the most popular forts there is fort Ticonderoga. Fort Ticonderoga is the most popular fort there because of all the history there with some of our most famous people in history. Don’t forget about all of the amazing museums. There are even stuff like a Frankenstein Wax Museum, try finding that anywhere else.

Finally, there are way too many activities to do. Here are just a few, biking, water parks, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, walking, sightseeing, horseback riding. I could go on and on but then this essay would be 5,000 words long. My favorite activities are hiking and sightseeing because once you hike up a mountain, and see the view, you won’t want to climb down because of how beautiful the view is.
