One day a black cat wondered threw a meadow. And for some reason the cat thought it saw a tree move. It thought it was just its imagination. Then it saw the tree move again.Then it stared to chase the cat. Then the cat woke up and it was all a dream.

Once there was a ghost,

he ran into a roast,

people had a fright in the middle of the night,

hoping the ghost was toast

I do celebrate Halloween every year.The thing I do is my church has a Fall Fest that is on Halloween night and I play games make crafts and other things. And when its done we go trick-or -treating.My traditions are to go trick-or- treating every Halloween. I wear different costumes every year Halloween comes around . This year I am going to be a person wearing a poodle skirt ( I forget what the costume is named by so I just described it a little.)

How would you have felt if you were in Ruby’s shoes on that important day?

If I was in Ruby’s shoes that day I would be nervous walking threw that mob of people because people were threatening to kill her.And I would feel happy when I get into the school because I was away from the mob of people and I was at school and learning.

How must have Ruby felt on her first day at Frantz Elementary School?

On her first day of school Ruby Bridges could have felt like she was happy because she was happy she could learn. And maybe a little nervous because it was her first time ever being in a white only school.

How did the public react to Frantz Elementary School’s desegregation?

The people reacted about the desegregation like they didn’t like what is happening.When Ruby came she made the school desegregated because she was black.The people reacted like bad parents took their children out of school just because of Ruby Bridges.

The Visit

One day a little girl named Kaylie was walking down a path to her friend Anthony’s house.Kaylie knocked on Anthony’s door.

Anthony said,“Hello, Oh hi Kaylie.”

“Hi,can you play today?”questioned Kaylie.

“Yes,come right into my house,” said Anthony joyfully.

Kaylie walked in the door and looked in his house.

“Ok,what do you want to do now?”announced Anthony.

Kaylie said, “How about watch a movie?”

“That sounds great,”screamed Anthony with a smile on his face.

So Kaylie sat down and Anthony put the movie in.

“What movie are we watching?” asked Kaylie.

“You will see,” bubbled Anthony.

Anthony sat down next to Kaylie and the movie came on.Kaylie was happy because the movie Anthony put in was her favorite movie ever. Then at 4:00 the movie ended.

“That was a great movie,” shouted Kaylie.

“Yeah,I can’t believe the dragon didn’t get the princess,”yelled Anthony.

They walked into the tree house in the backyard.They saw a board game and played the board game until it was 5:00.They then heard a weird sound when they came back into the house.Almost like a cat ,but they didn’t know were the cat was.

“Where do you think the cat is?” said Kaylie looking like she was very frightened.

“I think it is in the basement”noted Anthony.

They went down into the old,dark,scary basement. The sound got louder as they went down the stairs to the basement.Their they saw Anthony’s cat fluffernutter meowing for food because she was not fed yet.

“Oh that is why we heard that loud sound down here,” thought Anthony,”Fluffernutter needed some food.”

“Ok,cool well I better get going so by,”explained Kaylie.

She walked out the door and got back home.When she got home she said “Wow that was a crazy day.”

On The Banks Of Peach Marsh

Every afternoon Kaylie and Emma have went outside they could come in to do chores.Everyday when they were outside they heard nasty sounds from birds like Re-caw Re-caw and caw, caw, caw.

“Come on, those birds again,” groaned Kaylie.

“Yeah, why do they have to make these annoying sounds,”growled Emma.

They went over to the peach marsh and swam in the lake for a little bit.Then it was time for chores Kaylie went in and then Emma went in then when their Ma was done talking to them about their chores she snuck outside again without Emma.

”I am going to go swimming again,but this time I am going to the deep part,”announced Kaylie.She went into the water. She got closer and closer to the water until she could not touch the bottom.                      

“Ahhhhhh,” screamed Kaylie, “Help!”  And ma and pa came rushing out. Pa dove into the water to save Kaylie and got her out of the water and carried her into the house.

“Now what will your punishment be?” He growled.  

“Hmmmm…” thought ma.

“How about no playtime for a week?”suggested pa. “O.K.” gulped Kaylie. And when they finished Emma went to play in the peach marsh that went to the peach pond. She played among the reeds and blue flags.

“I wish I could go outside, sighed Kaylie inside watching Emma out the window she looks like she is having so much fun.” Kaylie got up to do more chores. Soon when the week flew by she could go back out to play.  She and Emma went to the pool with their dad. But Kaylie didn’t want to go in the water.Kaylie wanted to stay out of the water.She sat on the grass and pulled weeds for her ma.Then when she pulled a weed she saw a badger hidden in the bushes.She went to grab a stick because she was scared and frightened by that animal.She then poked it very gentle to not scare it away from her.A frightful snort came from the animal. Its eyes sparkled mad,and scared.The white teeth almost snapped Kaylie’s cheek.Kaylie ran with all her might hoping the badger didn’t catch up to her.Soon she got back to the dugout.

“Oh my goodness dear,” hollered Ma.

“Yeah, what happened Kaylie?”questioned Emma.

“Well I was chased by a animal,” screamed Kaylie, “but I got away, it had grey fur, sharp teeth,and a black nose.”

“Oh, that sounds very much like a badger,” noted Pa.

“ So Kaylie almost got bitten by a badger?!” exclaimed Emma.

“ Daddy, please find this badger and make sure it never comes back, I don’t want my little sister to actually get bit by one!” hollered Emma.

“Please don’t let me go outside again and find that mean,old badger,” yelled Kaylie.

Pa went out so get rid of the badger and chased him off into the other neighbor’s yard! The badger was not seen again.

“ Thank you pa.” sighed Kaylie with relief.

And that was the last of the badger.

Due to her crying, we know Reba Jo feels sad in some way about loosing her hat.  Based on the illustration on pgs 120-121, how else does Reba feel about losing her hat?

Another way her feelings are about loosing her hat is mad,angry.She is mad and angry because she lost her hat because it was new and she loves that hat.

What deal did Reba Jo and the horned toad make?

Reba Jo and the toad made a deal that Reba Jo had to give the horned toad chili, play her guitar, and let him take a nap in her hat.
