Apology

A BIG sorry to everyone who reads my blog! After moving to a house without internet, I had forgotten about blog for a while. Once I finally remembered about it, it was during a period that my laptop was missing. When we finally found it after about a month, I had forgotten my blog URL. And then just tonight, while doing my school, Aquilla, my oldest brother who is sixteen, was cleaning the school room, and found it! I will be trying my best to remember to post on my blog at least once a week, but there should at least be one post a month. Again, sorry!

The Dog Disappearance—Introduction Book 3—Mystery Michael Series

INTRODUCTION

Meet Mystery Michael. He is a detective. In the previous book, The Mysterious Mansion, John, the town robber, lures Michael into a trap, but Michael foils John’s plans before he can rob him. Anyway, Michael wakes up the next morning, and in the middle of his morning routine, Bill Hisdom, Michael’s friend, calls. “Michael!” Bill says, “I need you over here quick! Shadow, that is if he even is Shadow, is gone AGAIN!” “What do you mean?” Michael replies with wonder. “Just get over here quick!” Bill yells before hanging up. Michael finishes his routine, gets in his car and heads over to Bill’s house.

Chapter 7: Mansion Mastered

After Michael cleaned up, and took the things out of the bag and put them away, he looked at his watch. It was 7:30 PM, so Michael decided to give Bill a call. “Hello Michael,” Bill said, “Have you solved the mystery?” “Yep,” Michael replied. He told Bill the whole story. “Man,” Bill said, “You sure have a detective’s brain. But I have a problem. Please come over to my house as soon as possible.”

“Okay, I’ll be there tomorrow,” Michael said, “I’ve had enough mysteries for one day.” “Alright, see you later. Bye,” Bill said. Michael went over to his calendar and wrote beside the earlier mystery, Solved John’s Trap.’ “Two mysteries in one day,” Michael said, “Is good progress. But right now, I better be going to bed.”

Chapter 6: Catch the Criminal

Michael picked up his phone. “Hello,” he said, “This is Michael Refith. How can I help you?” “Hi Michael, this is George,” John said. “I was just wondering if you solved the mystery yet.” “Nope,” he replied. “I’m still here thinking about it.” Michael heard a little chuckle on the other side. “Well, good luck!” John said. Michael laughed hard. “He actually thinks I’m still there!” he thought. Michael parked his car on the side of the road near his driveway. He didn’t want John to know he was coming.

He looked up to the second-floor windows. He could see a figure moving around with a bag that looked quite full. Michael turned around and saw a police car park by his. He was surprised. Had they been following him all the time? The policeman quietly walked over to Michael. “I was watching you over at the abandoned house,” he said. “I heard your conclusion, so I decided to follow you. So, are we going in?”

“Yep,” Michael said. “But do you promise we share the reward of $1,000?” “Yes,” the policeman said. “We spit it 50/50. Let’s go.” Luckily for them, John had left the door open, so they didn’t make any noise coming in. Soon they peeked over the top of the stairs, and saw John right in front of them, messing with something on the desk. “You better stay down there,” the police whispered. Michael went down the stairs, and right after that, he heard the policeman say “Put your hands in the air,” the bag drop, and soon afterward, he came down the stairs with John handcuffed. John growled at Michael, then he was taken out to the car, and driven out to jail.

Chapter 5: This is a Trap!

“This is extremely weird,” Michael thought. “Why was he so slow to answer me?” Michael thought about it for a while, but couldn’t figure it out. “Well,” he said out loud, “I might as well investigate the house.” He tried to open the door. It was unlocked! When he looked inside, he was astonished. There were cobwebs everywhere, the furniture was old and dusty, and some of it was even tipped over. The house was abandoned! “But what about the car here?” he wondered. Then he looked outside, and the car was still there. “Okay,” Michael said. “Now how could of that happened?”

And then, he realized it. The car in the driveway was not old, so… it had to be an extra car that George put in there! And also, with George’s name… it sounds a lot like John Forlin, the town robber! And he wanted me away from my house so he can rob me! And he wanted me to call him, so he knows when to leave the house so I don’t catch him!!! “At least he most likely won’t leave the house, because I never called him,” Michael said as he started to drive away. Then, the phone rang.

Chapter 4: Quick Questions

“Edward,” George said. “Edward Makeli.” Michael wrote Edward Makeli for who, and MISSING for what. “When exactly did you arrive?” he asked. “Around 5:30,” George said. “I knocked and rang the door bell every 5 minutes for thirty minutes, and he still didn’t answer, so I called you.” So Michael wrote 5:30 through 6:00 for when. For where, he wrote Edward Makeli’s house. “And, finally, why exactly did you come here?” Michael asked. George paused for a moment. “So?” Michael said. George replied, “He invited me over for supper,” George finally said, “but he obviously is not ready, so I guess I’ll just be heading home. Oh, and give me a call once you’ve found out what happened to him.” George got in his car and drove off.

Chapter 3: Weird and Wacky

Michael arrived at Edward’s house. George was waiting in the front yard. The house was surrounded on the left and right with small woods. In the back was a garden, and behind the garden was a road. George was right, the lights were off, and the car was there in the driveway. Michael got out of his car. “Hello, Michael Refith,” he said. “Call me Michael,” Michael said. As usual, he wrote down the questions: WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and WHY. “So, George,” he said. “What is your friend’s name again?”

Chapter 2: Talking and Thinking

“Sorry,” Michael said, “But I need to go now. Another mystery awaits me!” “Will you be able to come another time?” Bill asked. “I hope so,” Michael replied. “But then if I can come back, may I bring everyone I helped?” “If they want to come,” Bill said. “Ok, thanks. Well, I better be going. See you later!” Michael said. “Goodbye!” Bill said back. Michael went into his car. As he was walking, he was thinking. Why was George walking to his friend’s house anyway? Was his friend’s car there? What time does his friend go to bed? Just then Michael looked at his watch. 6:00. Who would go to bed this early? “I need to give George a call,” Michael said. “He is the only one who knows this.”

As he dialed in George’s number, he wondered if this was just a trick. Could George have somehow been doing something to make him not get any mystery calls in the past? And now trying to lure him into a trap? Maybe. Michael lifted the phone to his ear as he got into his car. “Hello? Why did you call me again?” George asked. “I need to know what time your friend goes to bed, and if his car was there. And by the way, what is your friend’s name? And why were you going to his house anyway?” Michael said. “My friend’s name is Edward Makeli,” George told him, “And he usually goes to bed at about 8:30 – 9:00. Yes, his car was there when I got there, because otherwise, how would it even be a mystery? I was going to his house because he had invited me to supper.” “Ok, I’ll be right there,” Michael said.

CHAPTER 3 COMING SOON!

Henry Huggins

SUMMARY:

One Wednesday afternoon, Henry Huggins was swimming at the Y.M.C.A. When he went outside, he found a skinny dog and decided to keep him. Because the dog was so thin, Henry decided he would call him Ribsy. Then Henry called his mother to see if he could keep Ribsy, and she said yes. Then twice, Henry was turned off of the bus, but the third time, he finally got on. Then, Ribsy made such a big mess on the bus that the police came and took Henry and Ribsy home.

OPINION:

My favorite character is Henry because he makes a lot of funny mistakes, like the time when he brought Ribsy on the bus. My least favorite character is Scooter because he is usually mean to Henry and he brags a lot. I would recommend the book because it is funny in some parts, and it even teaches several lessons.
